Mine was a .410 bolt action shotgun, mossberg. Had interchangeable screw on chokes. I bought it as a freshman in collage. Worked fine on close range cottontails. But it was dismal on everything else. I still have it, it is cleaned, oiled. It...

You can also mix it half and half with pure lead or range scrap for low speed pistol bullets. They won't be as hard, can't be pushed as hard, but it doubles how many you can get. As said above straight up for faster rifle bullets. Fact is the...

Find yourself a punch that will do the correct size for .410 to make wads. Then try a milk jug (Plastic) A milk Jug (waxed paper, thickest) and some of the thin cardboard that package pop cans in 12 and 24 packs. See which one does the trick....

I lost both my parents last year. They had a lot at the local cemetary. Put up a marker that looks like a little stone house. 8 spaces for urns, the urn is sealed into place with a stone cut from the marker. And a brass plaque that tells the tale. ...

I agree that hulls should have a notation if they are straight walled and tapered. Ideall both hulls and wads would be cross indexed. If you buy these hulls you want X or Y wads. This would make life a LOT easier for someone just getting started....

I'm using 3 grains of Red Dot but I like my loads on the milder side. I have loaded them up as far as 4.5 grains with no issues, good accuracy in carbines and a handi rifle stubb barrel I have.

ATF with very tight patch's, followed by dry, then a very wet one. Let it soak for 4-8 hours. Repeat. When you think it is getting close go shoot 20 rounds through it and clean again. I had a pair of mosin's with very dark bores, very little...

I agree with Reddog81. Stick with what JM Browning designed it for. There are extended barrels for 1911's. At one point I thought about a 12" barrel. But, you gain no sight distance. You can't put a front sight on the barrel and have it go...

I really like the RCBS primer pocket swager. Does a great job on small or crimped primer pockets, low cost, works with every press I've tried it on. And while you may pay a little more for an RCBS tool initially, the quality and the support is...

I have a set that I found cheap at a rummage sale. 5 stones total. But, for average work, a good Arkansas stone, a steel and a barber's strop will do IMO the same thing with less time, less fuss. An old friend of mine now in his 80's used to...

They don't want us using 20 or 25mm rifles for sporting purposes, or any other purpose for that matter. IMO the big difference between shotgun, rifled or otherwise, and a larger than .50 rifle is range. Even the .50bmg in a good rifle can shoot...

Easier to show her. Dozen pop cans, a safe place to shoot, scatter them from close to mid range. Give her a decent .22lr rifle or pistol and tell her to go have some fun. To me that is what it is about, fun factor. Kicking a tennis ball down...
