    I tried again and I can't get any bullets to come out good. Now they look slightly out of round at the base. Also slag is constantly in the pot and attached to the ladle and if I'm not scooping it out the whole time it just keeps constantly forming....

    It's that bottom cavity. I'm thinking what it was, was me trying to peel the lead out with a metal pick. I didn't believe it at first because it kind of looked like that before. Then I got to thinking, it really can't be anything else.

    I use 3.4 grains of 700x with a 158 grain bullet in 38 brass. Hodgdon lists that as a max powder charge in 38 cases and a minimum powder charge in 357 cases.

    Thanks! The data Lee lists is for a fold crimp right? That's what it looks like to me. Also, the Remington "premier" hull they list, is that the same thing as an sts?

    I only have experience loading the Lyman 525 slug that a member sent me a couple years ago. I really like the results of the Lyman. I'm looking at getting the Lee mold because it will be my first adventure into casting so I think it would be better...
