That might have come from the target being mounted on a cardboard box and the wind was blowing at that time as well moving the box a bit.

Still developing the load for my 91/30 so this is not a final but it may turn out to be a good load anyways if it's repeatable. I shot this 5 shot test load over the weekend using my Accurate 215 gr. FN bullet sized to .314" LARS 2500+ lube and...

My very first Mosin Nagant was a M39 Fin. It's amazing how shiny age hardened cosmolene can look. I thought I had it clean a couple times. Then one night I started cleaning it with Hoppe's #9, Wipe out patch out and Sweets 7.62 I kept switching and...

I always stand my bullets rifle or pistol, I also size and gas check after coating. 1. If you air cool your bullets when cast then PC them an allow them to air cool again the second time there is no change in the as cast BHN of the bullet. ...

Like the first reply said it would likely make the job easier. I've hand drilled and tapped a lot of more precise things then a simple set screw in an aluminum mould but I've been doing stuff like that since I was a teenager. I've been a machinist...

I'm using the Lee 340gr plain base with powder coating. I really don't know why it's a .457 when it should actually be a .459 but with the powder coating bringing up to between .458 and .459 it works really well. I do plan on lapping the mold...

I was about to say STOP !! when I read that you ran your loaded ammo back into the size die but saw that you found out how bad of an idea that is. It totally destroys all of the neck tension because of the swedging of the bullet. Hope you get...

PPU has been good in every caliber I've used. The only way you could have no neck tension is if the walls of the brass is under size or as posted above there is or was a problem somewhere in the sizing. Do you by chance use a neck expander...

He explained it above. The shiny spot in the photo is flat spot on the boolit where it engaged the rifling. It's shiny because it reflected the camera flash. Not because the powder coating was scraped off. Motor

If you read the OP's post above what you see in the photo is NOT a scrape. It's a flat spot that is reflecting the camera flash. I think he also said there are more of them around the boolit. The "continuation" is more or the same flash. ;) ...

Just a another response to one of your earlier statements about worry over sizing and scraping PC. Are you aware of the "hammer test" ? This is where you take one of your powder coated boolits and hammer it into a cube. When you are done your...

Looking more closely at your photo it looks like you have plenty of room to seat deeper without the ogive being below the case mouth. .311" should be good. I size all my boolits for .308" groove diameter .311 Seat your boolits so the point...

Yep. This is another reason why I like the Lee 160gr 2R TL. Even when powder coated it's profile does not interfere with the lead. (The part of the chamber where the rifling starts) I do flat point them for use in tubular magazines. I really...

I use the "small drum" in my Uniflow. I'll be honest though I love Unique it and Bullseye are my two "go to" powders but they, Unique more than Bullseye, do not dispense as accurately as finer granule powders. I have seen +/- 2/10 grain but not...

I use the Lee 160gr 2R TL in several 30 and 30+ caliber rifles including 30-30. I even made a trim die that I use to flat point it for tube magazines. I've always got good accuracy both sub sonic and super and both lubed or as I now use them, powder...

There's no doubt 30-30 in a bolt action is very nice besides being inherently more accurate then your typical lever action the fact that most do not use tubular magazines mean you can safely shoot pointed bullets or boolits which opens up your...
