I have a Krag made in 1902 and a Springfield made in 1934 and both like a .311 sized NOE 314-202. I size the same bullet for my 1944 LongBranch No 4 Mk1 5 groove sized to .314.

I had a Savage No4 Mk1 2 groove barrel that I could not get cast to shoot well. I was offered more than I paid for it and replaced it with a 1944 Long Branch with a 5 groove barrel. .312 sized NOE 314-202 bullets exhibited a hint of yaw at 100 yards...

I discovered that I have a pilot for my 45 degree crown cutter so it gets a new crown in the AM, whohoo. The US bases are 1/4" or 3/8" wide but if I find one I will let you know. By the way why do you refer to them as bombers? When I was...

I checked to see how square the crown was and eyeballing it with my machinists square there is a 3-5 mil difference from side to side. I will get a proper pilot for my 90 degree crown cutter and square it off next week. I did spent some range time...

34 gr of IMR4895 works in my M1 but I started at 28 gr and worked up in 1 gr increments until I got reliable operation like Mr Gibson stated. Each M1 is a study in taking your time.
