Charles; I just bought a 1948 336 30-30 myself. From what I read I believe that's the first year of production for the 336s. Very happy to have mine as it's in top notch shape. Just my third lever gun. I have it bracketed on both sides, a 45-70...

My Saeco lube-sizer works great, nice tool. I take the die and the pushrod and gasket out and use a heat gun and rags to wipe it down. Gp

I think the powders you mention will work just fine. In my plinking rifle rounds I prefer TiteGroup but most fast pistol powders work well. Gp

I shoot the NOE clone of the RCBS 35-200 in all my 357s. GP-100, Handi 357 and the Ruger 77-357. Pretty hard to beat in the 357s and my 35 Remington. Gp

Don't worry too much with slightly over sized bullets (the cast ones) while it is surely not recommended. I have personally seen a 357 mag round sized .358 accidentally fired in a 30-30 Handi rifle. No damage was done to the rifle and the bullet...

Something wrong with the measurements somewhere. If your bore is truly .3594 then your bullet should be sized .360. With the OD of the case neck @ .391 and a neck thickness of .012 that would make your bullet .367 so there seems to be a .007 error...

I have several of the NOE RG2 moulds and I use the WFP the most. My thinking is that the heavier weight and the wide nose put more whack on the target. The HPs are fun on water jugs and the like though so it's nice to have the choice. Gp

Country gent beat me to it. Cast iron pots work great but warm them up slowly. I don't think there is a cheaper way to get a good smelting pot unless you cut down an old propane tank. I have both and use the dutch oven 90% of the time. Gawd, I'm...

I bought my 2001 ten years ago with 110,000 miles on it for $10,000 dollars. It had been rode hard pulling concrete form trailers since new. It now has 210,000 miles on it and is much cheaper to keep going than payments on a new rig. Motor is still...

dikman; Good idea, I think those Uberti rifles are very nice. Had the new Henry at the range today to get the Leupold 4X scope set. The rifle loves a 405gr. hollow base, a 315gr. not so much so far. After getting the scope somewhere near the...
