I much prefer the mechanical locks. My Heritage safe (out of production) came with a Sergeant/Greenleaf lock and it has given me no problems in fifteen-twenty years. Gp

longbow: Right now with the 20ga. I'm using the Short Lane 209 primer conversion that works pretty much like a hull cut off at the brass-plastic line. Load the BP then a stuffable wad (Sheeps wool for now) then the load of buck shot. The Rossi...

Ghosthawk: The lighter bullets that I've tried in my 444 Handi include the Saeco #62444 @ 205gr. (44-40 bullet) the Lee TL430-240 and the Noe 429421 245gr SWC. These being revolver bullets helps to keep the recoil light enough to enjoy plinking....

Saw earlier above the worry of a slow twist in the 444s, that is why I bought my Handi rifle 444. It has a 1 in 20 twist and has no problems with heavy bullets. That is the main reason I own that rifle instead of a 44mag. The 44mag brass is less...

newton; I make my own 30 and 35cal. aluminum checks. I keep small bins of checks that vary in thickness from about .009 to .015 although the mandrel is the same the different thickness allows for a just right fit. Also, the NOE check seating die is...
