Glad you had a good range day with your single shot and light loads. It is a lot of fun. I love to lob 280 gr. boolits loaded with a bit of unique at the 100 yd. range. My 35 whelen Encore just sits on the shooting bag like nothing at all...

Don't have any domes right now, but talk about fun plinking with a 880....i just ran a bunch of gamo lead round balls through the bb mag. Just cycle them in with the bolt, put the safety on, pump, safety off, shoot....too much fun and accurate...

I want to try some domed pellets in .177, but will have to order some. No one locally seems to carry any. My brother gave me some 16 gr. jsb domes in .22 for my 392 and they shot fantastic.

I use the Lee 290 gr. .454 minnie ball in my 45/410 handgun(BondArms derringer) in standard 45 colt brass. Yes, it has a long jump to the rifling, but i still get at least "combat" type accuracy with it...2 1/2" to 3" at 25 yds. The hollow base in...

Okay, How do you guys store your 880? I like to leave a pump in my pneumatics, but on the 880 it has to be cocked to put a pump of air in. Does it hurt to leave it cocked with a pump of air in the valve for storage? I shot indoors at 10 yds....

Shoot them. Why worry? No one expects Lee molds to mold bullets exactly to the weight they say they will be. The higher the pure lead in your alloys composition, the higher the weight your mold will cast bullets. AND the smaller they will cast.

Using a PID to control the pot heat adds another whole dimension, too. This would reduce the learning curve in halve. PID plans are on the site.

A hot plate and PID make a yuge difference! I used a #10 cut off can to make a warming oven.

A yard sale hot plate works great for molds. A cut down #10 can make a good cover to make a sort of oven. A wood handle on the can keeps you from getting burned. See the top left side of the photo.

No worries about getting poor bullets at first. Just melt them back down, no one will know. Cast quickly to heat up your mold to temperature. Don't start inspecting your boolits until they start frosting over. Then, you can slow down your cadence....

I put a thin coating of Alox on any metal under the wood of my deer hunting rifle. So I don't have to tear it all the way down to clean it, if it gets wet, until after the season. I'll use BLL next season because it's even thinner.
