I should have mentioned that I was patching both bore riding nose and driving bands/ gas check shank. I've loaded five rds each of 40 gr 4895, 41 gr, 42 gr and 43 gr for my M700 .30-06 and will try 'em this week. Not sure of this sentence structure;...

I'm going against what p dawg shooter and others have posted on using a boolit for paper patching by not lapping the bore riding portion to same dia. as driving bands. Using a RCBS .30- 180 - FN and sizing it to .3032" while the nose varies from...

Savage is nicer than the Rem M 11 in my opinion. Browning design w/o the magazine cutoff.

You will be going backwards by reducing the acute shoulder angle and increasing body taper. I would use an rcbs file/trim die and size down in steps to help prevent collapsed cases. Good luck; hadn’t heard of this before.

Rebarreled my M93 and I shortened the size die to allow case to fit the chamber. I liked the chamber as it was cut and don't use factory ammunition anyway so saved the rental on a finish reamer.

HABCAN I think you have some folks sitting and shaking their heads. What you are doing isn’t supposed to work; at least according to the “ standard operating procedures “ of paper patching. I have had some success following the but I’m...

Are there any barrel suppliers offering twist rates slower than 1/12 without the barrel being special ordered/ custom made? Not sure how to ask this question but it seems the slowest twist commonly available for the rem 700 is 1/12 and e.r. Shaw...

Welcome aboard! I have to agree with Yodogs. The pc is causing the oversize boolit. Tumble lube those and they will work great. Ben's LL is super!

Friends in Houston talked me into getting on a deer lease with 'em out near Fredricksburg; west of Austin. I asked them what cartridge they were using in their rifles and they said .222 Rem. I laughed until I actually saw the size of the deer. They...

The 788 .30-30 has a bore dia. of .302" (as best I can determine without a set of pin gages) so should be o.k. with .3032" boolits. Groove is right at .309" so I am trying tracing paper and am not used to not sizing the wrapped slug. I'm going to...

Ran out of .30 gas checks and decided to go with paper patching for a while. The 311466 isn't a bore rider and went thru the Lee push thru .303" die with no apparent unwanted distortion. Will this design work for pping? I have been looking for a...
