Isn't the sear spring also the trigger return spring on the 788's factory trigger? Seems like I remember a modification where that spring is shortened and a separate return spring and screw is installed.

Thanks for the input, gentlemen. I think I'll be looking for a 1-14" twist barrel.

Kreiger has a .30 caliber blank with a 1-17" twist rate. Asking for opinions; would the 311466 be stabilized at such a slow twist rate? Looking to build a dedicated cast boolit shooter in .30-06 and don't want to go to an extreme twist if it will be...

I thought caliber was a designation of the bore and groove diameter of a rifled barrel. I thought cartridge was the designation of the case containing a specific volume of propellant; and could be of the same caliber or smaller or larger caliber. I...

White rabbit I have not tried WC-872 but it’s only a little slower than 860. I’d give it a try; especially if you go with a heavier boolit. I checked records & showed 2300 FPS with the Lyman (paper patched) and a case full of 860.

I have the RCBS 37-250-FN (gas check) and the Lyman 378674 (plain base). The RCBS will shoot into 4" at two hundred yards. Have not got to shoot that distance with the Lyman. Unless you are independently wealthy, you'll need to get some WC 860 from...

Using range pickup brass to form into .222 Rem and learned the hard way about weight (case volume) variation. Iím now sorting cases by weight and loading a batch of similar weight cases (one grain spread) and am wondering if this is too...

Until you shoot paper patched boolits thru a rifle it’s difficult to believe the polishing effect it has on a bore. 303guy has mentioned a number of times the Enfield barrels he has brought back from the dead. Rooskie might work too.

There is currently a .30 cal throating reamer on flea-bay. In looking it over appears the end of the reamer is supported by the bore diameter surface and would be unsupported by a bore several thousandths larger (say a Marlin 336 microgroove). Am I...
