As a boy I was up early one morning at the lake cabin. Bullheads had spawned 2 nights before in the shallow mud bottom areas. When I approached the water I could see the whole area was full of carp. They would not bite anything, period. ...

I love catching them on light tackle. A 20 lb carp on light spinning tackle with 20 lb spectra braid line will scare ya. That first blistering run can rip 150 yards of line off before you can turn them. Its hang on and listen to the drag scream....

Normally I like to run 50% COWW and 50% range scrap or soft lead. To which I will add 1-2 % tin/pewter. I have some lino cast up in 300 gr bullets, makes it easy to add a bit more tin where needed. I also finally after 3 years of looking hit...

I started back in the late 70's, had a fling going with holy black and CVA front stuffers. Bought a Lee 20 lb bottom pour and hated it. I battled with that thing for 2 months and eventually gave it away to a friend in disgust. I found a cheap...

I am not that far down that rabbit hole. Mostly I just grab a handful of lubed bullets in my left hand and trickle them in one at a time while my right hand runs the handle. Prefered catch for me is an ice cream bucket hanging on the press...

I did a full batch of just rice, in the steel liner, it did stick some. Also overcooked it a bit. Our best rice has always been 1 cup of rice one and a half cups of water, I use a ceramic bowl, and do it first so it can soak. Put that on top...

My main press is mounted on a big heavy bench. But I have a cheap Lee C press mounted under a table close to my casting station. There for sizing and gas checking and that is all it does. Screws need to be tightened. Some bullets I need to...

I suspect it is all in the sausage. Salt and pepper also help, pepper in particular. My wife and I have been discovering that Cavendish greek seasoning adds a nice bit of flavor to foods that have grown tasteless with age. Might try it.

The trick I learned on my pair of Mosin's and the SKS, for cosmoline, goo gone and lots of paper towels. Just keep going over it. Once the outside is bare and dry start stripping it down. Work each piece as it comes off. When I was all done...

Good for the two of you. I got off to a late start, was 44 when I found mine, 21.5 years later it keeps getting better. Takes teamwork, and no quitting. If you are going to do it you have to truly commit to it 150%. I think that very few...

I have a fancy Browing Neoprene sling on my win 94 dirty thirty. (Pawn shop find) Camo, has six pockets that hold .30-30 rounds nice and snug, and does not slip off my shoulder. Also does not dig in, bind, or cause pain in my shoulder at all. ...
