Momma and her momma were both New Orleans born, my mamma moved to El Paso at a young age, but she learned from her momma. I make rouix for a lot of different things. If I am making scalloped potatoes from scratch I like a light "biscuit"...

I started back in the late 70's, had a fling going with holy black and CVA front stuffers. Bought a Lee 20 lb bottom pour and hated it. I battled with that thing for 2 months and eventually gave it away to a friend in disgust. I found a cheap...

I am not that far down that rabbit hole. Mostly I just grab a handful of lubed bullets in my left hand and trickle them in one at a time while my right hand runs the handle. Prefered catch for me is an ice cream bucket hanging on the press...

I did a full batch of just rice, in the steel liner, it did stick some. Also overcooked it a bit. Our best rice has always been 1 cup of rice one and a half cups of water, I use a ceramic bowl, and do it first so it can soak. Put that on top...

My main press is mounted on a big heavy bench. But I have a cheap Lee C press mounted under a table close to my casting station. There for sizing and gas checking and that is all it does. Screws need to be tightened. Some bullets I need to...

I suspect it is all in the sausage. Salt and pepper also help, pepper in particular. My wife and I have been discovering that Cavendish greek seasoning adds a nice bit of flavor to foods that have grown tasteless with age. Might try it.

I mostly use aluminum molds. You are right that they aren't the most temp stable. I dip the corner of the mold in the melt for 20 seconds to warm it. Then I have a wet sponge that I tap the mold to every 2 or 3 cast. I watch how long it takes the...

I pan lubed for over a year. Using a cake cutter makes it about doable with any lube. Up grading to a lubsizer was awesome. With base line of 80ish bucks you can find a deal on here and Ebay. Just be careful of price gauging on Ebay. You will find...

Have you actually slugged your bore or are you assuming a 308 groove? .002 over groove is very doable and sizing .002 is also doable in one pass whether with lube sizer or push through. If the mold you're looking at is a Lee, they often run at or...

Good for the two of you. I got off to a late start, was 44 when I found mine, 21.5 years later it keeps getting better. Takes teamwork, and no quitting. If you are going to do it you have to truly commit to it 150%. I think that very few...
