Yes it is. My research indicates it is better for cold weather though. In hot weather it can cause problems... of about 85ish degrees (cant remember exactly). Not sure of the affect if used sparingly though. Felix lube calls for it. It is a water...

Bullet may be to big for the throat and its scraping. Slowly work the action to see when its getting the spots. If it gets the spots when close the action and you feel some resistance on the lever, then try you bullet .001 smaller. If you see it...

I am always playing with powders. Thus far, 26.5g of Reloader #7 is my best load and gives me Sub moa accuracy out to 200 yards for a velocity of about 2050 fps. Good load for greased or PC'ed or Paper Patched. That's what i shoot greased mostly and...

My problem with the .45/.410 is that it is neither fish, nor fowl nor good red meat. Accuracy with the .45's is going to be marginal from all the reading I have done. Long long jump to the rifling. And with the .410 with shot you have rifling...

Love the looks of that X patch system. I have been shooting some #1 buckshot in my Rem Rolling Block chambered in .32sw long no powder just primer. That x patch would give me better results I'm thinking. Been shooting them at a cardboard box...

If you are doing it right, 2 or more thin barely visible coats it will dry fully, harden to a hard shell finish that won't move with heat. It just bakes harder. If it is pure alox running in gobs, it might. But I don't think it would cause any...

There are many paths to the same goal so you'll need to figure out what works best for you. Since you're going to load pistol rounds on a progressive, I highly suggest using a RCBS lock out die. If you prefer to use a M die or NOE expander that has...

Nice looking cartridge. What is your chamber dimensions? Also get a dowel rod and close the action. Insert the dowel rod and mark it at the muzzle. Insert your bullet into the chamber then hold it gently in the throat with a pencil. Now while...

Use the correct size valve guide reamer to ream your cases to the correct depth for HBWC. You should be able to find one at a machine supply. OR just use DEWC. I have found that powder coated DEWC perform as well as HBWC. They are the first load...

I'm with gpidaho, and loving the .444marlin handi rifle I bought on a whim for 210$. Brass took a while to find, but it was not that hard to come by, just need to accept that you will pay 50 cents or better a piece. At least in the .444 it...

I carried one for a bug for a while as a LEO, since it was a close range get off me gun I had it loaded with wadcutters. Since I put my faith in shot placement I did not feel the need to use +P ammo, kinda hard to miss at very close range. Alas I...

Me too. He's one of 3 people here that I buy from at the drop of a hat if I need lead. Decent prices, perfect packaging, quick service, no hassles. Does not get any better than that in my book.

I use the expanders to put gas checks on Powder Coated bullets. NOE gas check seater is handy, but i find it a bit of challenge to get a gas check square with it. Takes a bit of attention and rotating the bullet. The die the bullet slides into...

Only .270 mold i have seen available are the RCBS one that looks like a Louverin style and the Lee mold. NOE also makes a few i think, but i am cheap and on a budget so i haven't had the funds to experiment. I have been using the Lee mold for 2 or 3...

I don't shoot those bullets, but my for 30-30 and .270 are seated far out. For the 30-30 i crimp inside the first lube groove and for the .270 i crimp on the second driving band. It has no adverse effect.
