Look at Accurate or NOE mold catalogs. You can find a boolit that you like the design of and either company will cut the mold to the sizing specs you provide in the order form online. However, if you use that Lyman mold, just size it to 312 and load...

Takes the bell off the case created with your expanding die in station 1. This should allow the assembled cartridge to chamber without issue. The carbide ring can in some instances squeeze the loaded boolit down to a smaller diameter. Some folks...

Ive put together 5 PSA AR15s, none of which cost more than $400 including the lower. They all shot the same. My boss couldn't shoot his Daniel Defense any better or faster and I'm not good. Buy what you can afford and be happy.

If you decide to buy new, the cheaper RCBS hand primer takes standard shell holders and inserts for large and small primers. I think I gave 40 bucks new for mine and im pretty happy.

Nueces, I think Gloob was suggesting a good alternative if you have a cheap single stage press to go along with your 550 if you cannot get the funnel you need. You can take the decapping/sizing die out of the 550 and put it on the single stage press...

Which one did you get CW? I got the BrassSmith C press last year for my birthday and it has done a lot for me. Loaded at least a thousand each of 270, 38 special, and decapped as many 223. Workhorse for sure and a good companion to the 550.

Hey Nueces, If Rick doesn't answer you, contact Lathesmith on this forum. He made a 9mm expander funnel for my Dillon press and it works great.

For 223, 9mm, and 380, I prime on the 550. For 38 special and 270 I use an RCBS hand primer because I load those on a single stage Lyman. As jmorris asked, why not prime on the 550? It is absolutely the fastest and most accurate of the two systems I...

I have a couple of those as well and haven't had issues in a couple of years use. I figured they would work for the time being thinking they wouldn't last too long, but I was wrong and they have been perfectly serviceable.

Your Redding dies will come with a neck resizer on the depriming stem. It will more than likely open the neck to .307. This allows some neck tension for jacketed boolits. What you are in need of is either a Lyman M Die or a Lee Universal Expander...

I use LPP and SPP in lower pressure cast boolit rifle loads with no issue. However, the above is correct. Load 10 and test, paying very close attention to the look of the primers. Make your decision based on those results. Any time you change the...
