My dies will work with both 44 special and magnum. I would need different dies to flare and crimp the short 44 Russian case. You could add “modern” 44 colt to the mix as well as modern 44 colt is loaded with inside lubed bullets. 44 colt is in...

In my 30 cals., if a .311 chambers and it does in all including a post 64-94 30-30 but a bit tight, I shoot it. But I don’t have a microgroove. Glad you found your issue and didn’t give up.

Isn’t fioocci 45 LC a reduced cowboy load? All my 45 LC revolvers ( all colt) and the burgess copy rifle like Lyman’s 454190 sized to .454. While it doesn’t have a crimp groove, the oversized 454 bullet seats firmly so as to not move in my rifle. ...

I am down to about 1 lb. of 846 from the days when it was $8 lb. I have a 8 lb. jug of varget to replace it both in 223 and 308. When the varget is gone, I’ll see what the market is on both new commercial and surplus. While I’ll buy primers when...

I bought a 43 Egyptian for $200 bucks that looked like it spent its life on a camel and dropped in the sand a lot. But it had a great bore. Converted 32 brass shotgun shells into brass and it’s a wonderful 200 yard steel plate shooter with...

While I have yet to shoot a deer with 45 colt, I have with 44 mag.. It was at a range where one could hear both the bang ( of course) and the whomp from the big slug hitting. Nothing magical or space aged designed needed from a 45 caliber 250...

Success. Early results with Lee’s copy of RCBS’s 358-200 GC bullet is a success. Got it sighted in at 50 yards so it was time for a 12” metal plate at 100 which was easy. Lyman’s 195 grain 358430 wasn’t as accurate with the same charge of 12...

I was able to bend my lifter just a wee bit and the jam is gone. It even feeds the Lyman 195 grain bullet seated to 2.2. I just loaded some new Lee 358-200 gas check bullets as well and off to the range tomorrow to see how they shoot.

Lots of calibers work, some are more versatile than others. As a reloader and bullet caster, almost all the mentioned calibers become more useful 2 to 3 fold. Evidently there are some of us ( but I think that number is really really small) that...
