The Howa Mini's fine. And can probably be found on sale online for less than $400. The metal parts are quite nice, but the plastic parts leave a bit to be desired. The aftermarket is stepping up a bit to fix perceived issues with parts. I'd take...

There are online calculators that will let you input the leade screw TPI and various gear combinations to produce a desired TPI. Or you can make a spreadsheet and make a table of lever/gear combinations to get you what you want.

McFred replied to a thread cast for .357 SIG in Cast Boolits
If I want to load 900fps cast 357SIG, I don't see anything stopping me. You think I'm ever going to get 1400fps out of a 9mm pistol safely? Some of you curmudgeons should go crawl back to whatever rock you came out from under.

So, has anyone maxed out a 90-110gr pistol bullet in a .350L yet? Seems that you could really splatter some jugs/varmints with some JHPs at 2700+fps. Just cuirous. I haven't seen anyone try the lighter end of the spectrum yet.

I like the Mini quite a lot but the plastic furniture has my enjoying my CZ527 more. Thanks for sharing BK7saum. FYI: 2020 LSI catalog offering wood-stocked Minis: https://www.legacysports.com/wp-content/uploads/lsi_2020_catalog_LORES.pdf ...

The heart wants what the heart wants. Plenty of ways to justify the expense especially since Montanas can be found used for ~$900 shipped. Cutting on a stainless Winchester M70 Classic is in that same ballpark. IIRC the 3.5kg limit was for...

A Kimber Montana is just a rifle. They're making more of them every day.

A Kimber Montana would get you a long ways toward your goal. Chop the barrel, add sights/EER scope and an additional swivel stud for a Rhodesian sling and Voila! The only shortcomings are that the blind magazine will not fit 5 rounds and the cost...

I started looking into a plinker type round due to extended rimfire/component shortages. $100 a brick is motivation to research a substitute. I've gotten inspiration from others doing something similar and I have a "why not?" sort of attitude. ...

I played with my MP 358-200. http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?394723-200gr-357-Sig-Subsonic One of these days I'll get around to trying it in a .35 Remington.

Off-season boredom and cabin fever has me tinkering in the shop. I cast some MP 35-200 HP (conical HP, gas check heel, w/o check). I used reclaimed range scrap and had issues with the mould filling out. I ran the pot hotter, but ended up just...

Those are nice rifles so far as I've read. I've held some but never had the pleasure of ownership. I have not yet been able to justify the expense as my mountains here are less prominent and less remote. Nice to see stainless/composite on Cast...
