1 RCBS uniflow and 6 Lee Pro-Autodisk. The Lees are set up on turrets for my handgun cartridges. When I decide to load a different cartridge, I don't want to mess around, mounting and adjusting the powder measure.

I know how well my Springfield Range Officer shoots. The TRP is basically a Range Officer setup for combat. I wouldn't worry about the TRP being a problem.

The only time I have used a fluff ball in a cartridge was with a few 45/70 loads decades ago. I was having an issue getting consistent ignition, so I used real cotton balls(not dacron) without compression, to hold the powder near the primer. It...

The case is supposed to open up slightly when fired, theoretically allowing the boolit past the crimp without sizing it down. Also, with a sufficiently soft alloy, which yours may well be, the boolit will obdurate and seal the bore from the...

I just did an energy calculation on that. Over 2000 foot lbs. I have shot quite a number of rifles with less energy than that. My 243 for instance.

It may be that a partial charge dropped in one case while the rest of the charge was hung up until the next case got under the powder measure. You might find a light load in there somewhere. The over loaded case would not have been a double, just...

A double charge of 14 grains should have damaged your gun.

I won't go anywhere near Chicago, thank you very much. I am not experienced enough with urban "civilization" to know how to stay out of trouble there. I have a stepdaughter that lives in Beach Park north of Chicago. That's as close as I want to get.

I have a model 15 which I have been carrying in the woods and occasionally carrying a 1911. I was wanting the 66 to carry with 357 loads. Where I hunt, we have a few packs of wild dogs and many coyotes. I have had close encounters with both. The...

I agree. I wasn't thinking in terms of a lot of magnum usage. I have a 686 for that. I was thinking of 38 special(lots) with the option of magnum if needed. I really like the K frame revolvers and don't currently own a stainless one. I have a...

I am not concerned about getting a "classic" gun. I have no use for safe queens as they will not stay that way for long. I buy guns to shoot, use, and enjoy. If a gun is in pristine condition, great. If it is an older gun with well worn bluing...

Did you ever get the brass reloaded and shot? If so, what were your results? I like getting data points even if they don't necessarily help right now or agree with my thoughts. I may learn some new data or a new way of thinking about things. Some...

I use Titegroup in 38, 9mm, and 45acp. In longer strings of fairly rapid fire, the gun barrel heats up faster. It doesn't seem to have any effect on boolits, accuracy, or leading. I like it because it is cheaper per shot and flows perfectly through...

That is very good to know. I had a model 19 many years ago that blew out the bottom of the forcing cone. I didn't want a repeat of that for sure.

Starline has claimed their 38 special brass conforms to the necessary specifications for use as wadcutter brass. You might contact them and verify.

Have you slugged your revolver barrel to find out if the groove diameter is larger than the throats? If the groove diameter is the same or smaller than the throats(unlikely but possible since I own one like that) you won't need to have the throats...
