So I would need a test spring set in order to properly test this. What they call a recoil calibration set.

Interesting. What is the sequence you go through to find which spring you need? Second shot high, second shot low etc.

The turret I have works faster but it doesn't work better. Your ammunition will be at least as good as mine. Your system will work fine.

Seating and crimping in separate steps is the best way to do it. I use a Lee FCD to do the final crimp so I don't need to keep adjusting the seating die. You could also use a taper crimp die instead as a final crimp die and never need to adjust your...

I am having a ball with them. It is a whole new world since I had an old army pistol instructor spend a little time with me and got me straightened out. I now shoot them nearly as well as I do my revolvers. I think I may finally have all the bugs...

You are NOT out of touch. You just have different priorities and habits than the younger set. I do things the same way you do as far as cleaning and washing my hands.

I own both and can't tell any difference in the way they shoot or their accuracy. On a still day, both will shoot dime size groups at 50 yards.

I have 4 1911 45acp pistols in my stable. 1-Springfield, 1-RIA, and 2- Sig-Sauer. They are all throated for SWC style boolits. Two of them are match grade weapons, although the other 2 shoot equally well for me for the most part. Today I did some...

Personally, I would choose .357 then make a couple of dummy rounds and see how many of the guns they would freely chamber in. I don't own any older 9mm handguns. .357 works in everything I do own. .358 works in everything except my 1911 Range...

I am thinking more in terms of controlling muzzle flip that recoil. I don't own a handgun with enough recoil to worry about. I am thinking in terms of a faster second shot.

I have been doing that for years and getting away with it without problems. Since I started working with 1911 pistols in 45acp, I have found I need to size to fit the throat or it won't go into battery. Now I am sizing all my 45acp boolits and...

I have a Lee push through die marked .357 and use it regularly. The boolits measure .3575 coming out of it. I really don't think the tolerances in their dies are all that tight. Just buy one and if it doesn't size quite large enough, polish it open...

There are lots of different ways to help with recoil and muzzle flip in handguns. Two of them are barrel compensators and barrel porting. Does one work better than the other?

First off, Glock pistols are ugly. That said, I don't mind ugly if it works reliably and shoots accurately. Glocks have a reputation for both. And I won't be looking at the gun when I am using it, just the sights. I have never owned one. I have...

You need to develop enough pressure to seal the chamber with the brass. With rifle cartridges, this takes more pressure. The only way to get the pressure without too much velocity is by using faster powders.

In that case, I would suggest trying a different brand of boolit. Something is wrong with those since they are spraying that much lead. There are lots of people out there making boolits.

If you can't push your current boolits through the cylinder, going to a larger boolit will be a complete waste since the cylinder will size the boolits down to the cylinder throat size when fired. You should find out what size the groove diameter...

The bases on those are fine. They are designed with a slight bevel on the base. No problems there at all. Look at the picture on the Lee website for that boolit. https://leeprecision.com/6-cavity-tl358-158swc.html

That is a kind of mid range hardness used in pistol rounds and low velocity rifle loads. It is easily achieved with lots of different alloys and works well in the majority of handguns. You will find that sizing to fit your particular gun will have...
