85's are a nice light weight carry gun. That is my wife's carry gun. She prefers the S&W 60 but she saves the Smith and carries the Taurus. I have shot both in the "Dick Tracy" match at the gunclub. Shooting standard 158 gr RN lead bullets, I much...

I acquired a good sized batch of once fired PPU brass in 30-06. I normally use Remington and Winchester brass for my 168 match target loads. I have fired hundreds of these with great results and no pressure signs other than very slight primer...

We had a day of sunshine with temps in the 60s today, so I went to the range with my CZ MTR to give it a spring workout. I should have paid attention to the wind instead of the temperature. 15 mph and gusting from the side. Really tough shooting...

What else, besides precious metal/stones, are you going to buy, use, and enjoy and still get 80% of your purchase price back? Or even make money if buying used.

I have several spread out over three locked gun cabinets. The wife has no idea how many I have(neither do I actually, without counting). She used to complain about the money. A couple of years ago, we had a sudden unexpected expense and needed...

If I was using a 9mm pistol for match shooting, I would definitely want matching headstamps. For my use and skill level, mixed brass works fine. It will all depend on the intended use.

13/16" outside to outside of the thick inner circle. 3/4" inside diameter. The unlimited target is 1/2" outside to outside of the thick inner ring. Touching the color outside the ring counts the lower score on both targets.

I have 9mm handguns from S&W, Springfield(two very different guns), Beretta, and RIA. The S&W is a 929 revolver and will accept nearly anything in any OAL since it headspaces off the moon clips. It isn't picky about diameter since anything large...

I would think that best group settings at 50 yards would carry over. Using the same ammunition and rifle, the nodes would still be in the same place hence best accuracy would occur regardless of the distance shot. What am I missing?

So. the two shot groups are an indicator that needs to be followed up with testing of the best settings. Makes sense. The poor two shot groups as an indicator of where not to test further also makes sense.

I am thinking your nodes, with this particular rifle, are wider than a single click. Perhaps each one covers more than 5 to 10 clicks in a single spot. That gives you a broader range of settings where you can get excellent accuracy. Determining...

That depends entirely on the chamber of your pistol. Make up a couple of dummy rounds and see how they drop in. If they drop in cleanly and will feed from the magazine, you should be good to go. I have used boolits up to .360 in pistols with...

Predicting how a barrel vibrates and timing the bullet exit is more hit and miss than anything. All one can really do is to stiffen the barrel, thereby shortening the length of the vibration and maybe increase the frequency of it. Not certain about...

Since it is designed for the 30-30, it will likely disintegrate at higher velocities. It would work well for a longer range bullet since it would have slowed down by the time it reaches long range. How well it will shoot depends on how accurate the...

Even the barrels from highly respected companies often do not match up with nominal dimensions. A couple of thousandths small is nothing to be concerned about. As long as standard sized boolits will chamber and shoot accurately, you really don't...
