There is alot there to think about then. I'm thinking from a benchrest perspective...like the guys who shoot those gigantic slug guns for the MLRA matches....how do they return the barrel to a consistent condition for the next shot? How much of that...

So next question is...how do you ensure you have consistent pressure while pushing on the rod? Besides feel, which I imagine will vary based on alot of factors but I'd be interesting to see what feels the same in one scenario vs another and actual...

Yeah I'm not sure I've heard that before either....I mean I amongst hundreds of others with hp molds would all be in a world of danger if that were true....I'm calling this one a wives tale. Also, OP, great work... great idea for those of us...

From a pure best caliber standard I'd say the long neck of the 30 06 has the advantage...brass is still very easy to find for cheap and free from some on a public range but not nearly as plentiful as a 308. I have hundreds of piece of 308 I've...

As I understand it, overshot cards/wads help to create a seal for gas blowby which results in more consistent velocity/pressure and results in better accuracy...I would assume on conical loads it helps to protect the bullet base too? Am I missing...

How often do you see movement or activity your extended ranges? If all or most of your action is happening within 100 then your 10.5 is a no brainier... otherwise if you really do expect to see and have the option of a shot post 150 I'd take the 308...
