I like rifles in the early smokeless era into the 70s-80s even. Stuff like winchester 1886 in smokeless, winchester 71s, 95s, and 94s. But I also like JM Marlin 1894 and 1895 rifles, as well as the 336. I believe in shooting them, sling them,...

Is there a similar presentation for a M14SA? Have a LRB barreled action to put in completion status. Had this since '08 so time to finish it. Only problem then is finish the M1(from '05) first or M14SA. Don't handle dilemmas real well. Thanks.

Biscuits and Gravy with Bacon on the side has been our regular Sunday morning breakfast for years. Sometimes when the kids were young they would ask for Chocolate gravy.

lightman replied to a thread Snow???? in Our Town
We don't get very much snow here in central Arkansas. Maybe a fraction of an inch once of twice. We do get some freezing rain and ice. And most of us can't deal with it. The grocery stores run out of stuff even though the snow only last for a short...

I've said it before and I'll say it again! I envy you guys that can find pewter. What little that I run across is priced at antique prices. Lead, on the other hand is still available. Without even actively looking I get more every year than I use.

I just had another idea. You could make a small ulu with a top skeleton handle with a tang on both ends of the handle. Then if needed in a survival situation a stick for a handle could be lashed on.

The strips of wood don't go between the logs, but on the outside of them right at the joint. So say you have a 1" gap, you stuff that with insulation, then you take a 1/4 of a large sapling or just a whole small round sapling that is 1" -1 1/4" ...

I have big (not humongous) hands and the 5" lock back like the buck 110 fits me well. I don't have any of the schrade versions, but like all other knives I don't have, I'm looking for one. I have a buck 426, which is a plastic handled 110 and...

Hacksaw blade will do decent. Gave it some more thought. You could cut a rat tail tang and add barbs to it with a cold chisel. Then it could be driven into a stick to use for a handle.

Personally I think they will. I've not talked to any cops that agree with constitutional carry, nor does the folks at the local gun store. The FOP was complaining about it on the news when it passed. I don't see much support for it other than...

My 4 cavity Lyman molds are from the 60's or early 70's and they cast great. But Lyman has had a few problems. Sometime during the 80's or early 90's they had a problem with the top of the mold blocks galling. Recently there have been post about...

Back during the shortages of 2007-2008 I bought an annealing machine. I guess everyones QC slipped some during that time from just trying to keep up with demand. I was having new Winchester brass get neck splits on the first firing. This led to...

Stripping the bark is a must to prevent rot and bugs. The suggestion for rolled up newspaper is a good idea, corrugated cardboard would do well too I think.
