Mom has cancer. Bladder cancer. Then lung cancer, 2 kinds, one in each lung. Now a lump on her liver they expect is cancer but we're at the preliminary testing phase for that. The bladder cancer isn't really too bad and is controlled by removing...

Sometimes the required effort to recover is more trouble than its worth. Steel plate recovery is for me. The plate rack at our range pretty much destroys the bullet and all we find is dust. But it depends on how bad you need lead and how much time...

Weight and volume are not the same thing. A pound of lead chips takes up a lot less room than a pound of tumbling media. But with wax and alox, I spect it would be close to the same.

I've never seen the need to water drop. Like most of the others, I drop the hot bullets on an old folded up towel. The only damage that I have had is when a stray bullet gets away and hits the floor! I don't need the hardness and don't want the...

Old style gas checks do not crimp on, and will sometimes come off in flight. If my theory is correct, you would not crimp the whole check, just the leading edge. Similar to crimping a healed bullet. I do not have a 7-30 waters FCD at present to...

With range lead you never know. The stuff in your picture looks cleaner than that. Even though you're disappointed you will get about 700# of ingots from the stuff in your picture. Thats not bad!

So I have some of the old ideal gas checks. I haven't used them yet, and have been researching their quirks. I've seen where people just use them and deal with the occasional off shot when they come off mid flight. And where people glue them on. ...

I use my hand press for priming with good satisfaction. I'm not super happy with lees ram prime unit though. It seems that it seats the primer slightly out of square on both the hand press and my spartan. Im looking to upgrade to one of the other...

You really don't have to let it dry as long as you put it in a cold pot before you light the burner. The moisture will cook out before the lead melts. But you are right, never add it to a pot holding molten lead.

It seems like isotope lead has changed over the years but its usually very clean lead. I probably would melt a large batch together and send a sample off for test. Thanks for posting this info.

I gather you don't have a way to remove the primers such as a universal decapping die or an appropriate sizing die. Well, you can decap brass with a punch if you're careful. A drill press used as an arbor press would be safest. But I have...
