I broke the original pin in mine due to a small rock being in the case. That plus being in a hurry! I just ordered a new one and a couple of spares from Midway. There are some good aftermarket ones for sale. Squirrel Daddy is one, I think.

Roger, I know what you mean. I learned to weld as a kid and was a pretty fair mechanic. That was the days before you used a computer to troubleshoot a problem. I still have a timing light and a dwell meter on the wall behind my workbench. And a pair...

Theres no doubt that you are correct about that. I have a few notes attached to my will suggesting what to do with a few things. My lead stash is on that list. I still get lead when its free or cheap even though I'm sure to be at that lifetime...

I certainly understand the budget thing! Most of us started small and nothing says that you have to change. If it works it works! I started with a 10# cast iron pot on a Coleman stove. And the same types slotted spoon and serving spoons. Still have...

Right after I retired I cleaned out my drawers, closets and loading room and a buddy and I went in together on a table at a local show. Knives, belt buckles, excess brass, unused reloading equipment, ect. Having a friend along will answer most of...

You won't go wrong with a Hart barrel. I'm a Krieger fan myself, just because of having good experience with them. The 1-14 twist is a good choice for varmint weight bullets.

I've had several friends and family that have been through this. All of them say they would do it again. All of them also say to push the therapy early on while you are still on the pain meds.

It looks to be in excellent condition. Dillon's no BS warranty is one of the things that helps keep their resale value so high. This should sell pretty quickly. I probably would start out asking 80% of the new price and go from there. I'm not sure...

Thats a nice score and a nice pile of clean lead after a hard days work! After you do several melts you will develop methods to streamline the job. My biggest suggestion is to get up off of the floor to a comfortable height. Arrange the scrap pile,...

A 2 wheel dolly is your friend when it comes to moving buckets or ammo cans full of lead! I store mine in milk crates and they do get dull looking over time. Not a big deal to me but they also get a little dust on them. Being in a sealed container...

Look at the Dillon catalog for new prices. Then appraise the condition of your stuff. I've seen a lot of Dillon stuff sell for 75% of new prices if it was clean and in good condition. 80% might be a stretch. You could look on Ebay or Gunbroker for...

From what I have seen the above guys are about right. Dillon seem to go for 75-80% of new if its in good condition. You will need to negotiate shipping with the buyer or sell FTF.

I've heard of at least one instance when someone made a solid connector bar to go between the priming ears that converted the spartan into an O press. If I recall, they were swaging with it. Anyone else ever hear of this?

They will come out pretty clean if you flux an extra time. Scoop them up with a skimmer and shake them well.

I think you are wise to pass on that pot. I've seen some pretty good welders weld cast iron and it eventually cracks again. A cut off propane tank works well. If you are a decent welder you can make one from a large piece of pipe and a piece of...

When I get a bunch of solder there is usually some that I can't read the label on the spool or for other reasons don't know what it was. I usually just melt it all together and send off a sample to have tested. I've never been sorry for doing this.

I have a book about WW2 Nose Art that is interesting. Some of it is about what you would expect from a bunch of 20 something year olds that didn't ever expect to come home. Some of it shows a lot of thought and talent.

I like a Keith type SWC. I have two, a 150 grain and a 170 grain. They shoot very well but you may have to crimp them over the driving band for some revolvers.

My buddy had one. It was far better than the rough riders he normally has. It shot okay. My beef was the loading gate was very stiff. I would have tinkered on it if it were mine. He traded it off just as quick as he acquired it.

Thats a fair price on the lead and a great price on the solder. I would probably buy the rest of what he has just because its getting harder to find.
