Sounds like a fair trade for a brick of primers, going rate and all. I love the marlins in 357. Had a couple, lost one when my house burnt, dagnabit. Pretty nice old guns. You better take the lever out and round the part that causes...

Undoubtedly shipping them illegally. I certainly wouldn’t take a chance considering the penalty can be the same whether you’re shipping or receiving. I don’t look good in stripes!

I seat and crimp 30-30 in the same step. 31141 and lee 309-150-F seats fine using a plug I ground down flat. I had two RN plugs, and I faced one off square and polished it. It seats all flat nosed, cast and jacketed without issue. If it...

Might be every 500 is a good number, maybe you can stretch it past 1000 now that it's clean. It's a trade off between cheap and easy lube vs gun maintenance. Guns that are shot exclusively with non TL bullets can go longer. Likely a metal...

Once in a while, I'll take a cleaning rod and push in the follower and wipe out a 22s inner mag tube with a dry patch.

I take the tube off of my winchester 94 for cleaning at least every year or two. It don't see much TL bullets, but sees mostly cast. I also detail strip the gun every couple years. Just the way I run.

Antimony is what makes an alloy brittle. Adding tin makes it more malleable. WW alloy is somewhat brittle, but add 2% tin and it becomes malleable. In generally you need a balance between tin and antimony. You can't add but so much antimony to...

If when you slot it, you still can't turn it, hit the head with a brass punch/hammer a couple times to break it loose. If you strip out the slot, then you can use a steel pin punch to turn it out via driving against the slot edge.

It cast just fine. The bullets weighed almost exactly what the same bullet cast from wheelweights weighed. By my estimates there is about 4oz of lead on a pin. Thats not much but if they are free and even better if you are making Journeymans wages...

It may have been more work than you planned but the end result looks good. You can always put a range lead ingot in with your wheelweights, stretching the wheelweight alloy. Some see this smelting process as work, and it can be, but I rather...

Congratulations on the score! I have mostly used the Lyman style ingot which is about 1 pound. They stack ok.

Use an empty 40 cal to measure on the ogive of the 452374 to duplicate the same seating depth with the hp version. Be where I'd start.

Most folks use a large pot and a propane turkey fryer. I use a cut off propane tank for a pot set in a car rim with a wood fire underneath. I've never seen lead sash weights. All the ones I've seen were steel. The small lee...

Might try a bit more crimp. I've run tight rounds like that through a couple guns with no issues, only cause I had a few from my die backing off a bit or from when I was adjusting it. Though, it wasn't in a 9mm.

I've never slugged my Springfield milspec bore, started sizing .452 and never looked back. It ain't match grade and neither am I. It'll cut a ragged hole at 15 yards and around 2" at 25. It'll also hold on a 6" plate at 50 most of the time. ...

I have salvaged lead off of a lot of these. It test to be real close to clip-on wheelweights. That was a surprise, I expected it to be softer. I have several test run over a few years time.

I always use a stick about 2" around and 12" long for a mallet instead of a hammer. It works real good. As far as shtf kits, a lee loader isn't any better than a standard die set with hand press. The hand press doesn't take up enough weight...

What I do is, slug and measure. Then I use a hammer and bump the slug up just a couple thousands. It'll still barely start in the rifling, then slug again and measure. It is a more accurate measurement, course you have to measure on the part...

It does sound small to me. I'd guess maybe you compressed the slug beating it in and failed to bump it back up to groove diameter. I'd try again with soft.

One of those things that you don’t need until you need it. Some of your newbies need to get in on this. You will get a stuck case sooner or later! The time and effort required to safely remove a stuck case without destroying the die is not fun! ...

Casting with it to get an ID of the bullet size and weight would help sell it if you don't buy it.
