Compared to the 44 mag bullet cost the savings for 45 colt may be less pronounced but even paying a buck a pound for lead from the S&S forum you should be getting around 25 bullets at 255 grain per dollar of lead, this is after making a small...

What it sounds like is what ever works to allow for consistent neck tension without swaging bullet down to a poor fit is the way to go. I have separated WC brass, have enough to load for as long as it holds up. Considering HBWC gets a light charge...

Hahaha! Too funny! Oh wait you were serious? I skipped an estate sale that had listed a couple of three hole Lee turret presses set up for 9mm. The powder measures and primer feed were of interest but I would have needed them to practically...

One never knows. On an impulse I stopped at a place over lunch. Walked out with 7# of pewter for less than $20. Only problem is some is sort of nice for making into puddles. Will have to consider those pieces a bit.... while I melt the rest of...

I trim once to get a batch to all be same length so crimping for revolver will be consistent. Sizing .360 160 grain SWC from a new to me used NOE mold. Loving the Lee push through sizer after applying a bit of a polish with a gun cleaning patch...

If refreshing alloy to refresh depleted linotype that would be a very sweet alloy indeed.

I find more old rolls of solder than anything else at yard sales. The only thrift store left in the area that has pewter is pricing it based on "asked" not "sold" prices from eBay so it is pretty over priced. I had to put batteries in my scale and...

There is a member BNE who will test a pea sized sample of your lead with XRF for a payment of 1 pound of lead. Way better deal than Rotometals that is for sure. Shipping a SFRB is $7.85 so it can be worth it to ship a few samples and a few pounds...

Even tin will melt at a few hundred degrees less than lead will. So I would think you might potentially get some boiling from that sort of alloy dropped into a batch of molten lead. Could it have had some wax on it? Or possibly air bubbles or...

I captured the PDF version in case that might prove useful to some and uploaded a copy It would make a cool poster but as a PDF it runs 10 pages so it would probably be a pretty good size poster and take some manipulation to lay it out. Myself...

BP shooter probably why it didn't get used a long time back :-) Not casting for BP as much as smokeless is why my stash will probably have some pure plumbers lead ingots in it when I'm residing where lead melts at room temp so the mold is always...

Different heights AND the movements required to get and place components can make a big difference. I can't stand in one place at a bench and work for too long so I sit on a bench with a back. Not perfect because my feet don't sit flat on the...

Any opinions on the NOE expander plugs or Lyman M dies for getting the case interior to properly fit wadcutter cast bullets? Since inside is size after outside with those I would think it might make some difference in seating and fit.
