Hahahaha - like cats to a laser pointer! We just can't resist. Really the molds are such a good deal on price alone, throw in good size and cool design and it becomes a foregone conclusion. You really are an enabler of casting frenzy. I'll be...

That is the funny thing many don't take into account. The harder something is to replace either because of cost or general scarcity the less inclined we are to use it indiscriminately. If primers went to $55 a thousand I'm guessing many would use...

If it says sterling it is the good stuff. Collectable or as silver. If it says EPB or EPBM it is silver plated on very good pewter. Electro Plated Britannia Metal is what you want to google for more information if you find that. However if she...

Well yes face and beard full of wonderful smelly dirt is their natural state, and yes it can be a bit disgusting. Especially if the smell reminds them and they suddenly decide they just have to get back out and check that hole again. So they stick...

I have heard of that reaming being required for some 30-06 brass trimmed and sized to 8mm mauser to avoid a bulge from the thicker brass further down the case where the new 8mm neck is now located.

Any chance you can locate some actual wad cutter brass? I think it will often have a second canelure lower on the case. That brass should have straighter walls inside further down the case. I know it makes a difference in how well WC style...

RogerDat replied to a thread 58 cal smooth bore in Muzzleloading.
You are correct 24 gauge bore size is .579 so 24 gauge would be appropriate size wad in a 58 caliber bore. Might leave a touch of room on the sides but certainly where one would probably want to start. Those loads would probably be the best choice...

Well since we are limited to reloading I can't really claim every day after the first 3 dates with my ex-wife.... so I'll go with teaching my wife of the last 22 years to shoot. If I'm alive when she actually looks at the price tags on the boxes in...

58 caliber is close to a 20 gauge. Really close. A .58 round ball is a little loose without a plastic cup wad, a little tight with a plastic cup wad. I think I use a .56 or .57 with a plastic wad to load round ball in a Mossberg 500 20 gauge. So...

I have given it a thought and got some willow, a can for charcoal making and a grinder together then figured out I might want to do what I advise people new to casting to do. Buy your lead to remove a significant hurdle. Batch of WW ingots from...

Weight matters to me. For quantity I have gone with NOE with 4 or 5 cavities, Lee with 6 cavity. I finally decided to purchase a brass mold for HP .38/.357 use. Two cavity which I'm hoping will be lite enough and I don't anticipate needed HP...

With a gas check design maybe you could go a little lower hardness? I would also wonder about using Powder Coat to allow for a softer alloy? I don't load HP for the 44 mag but both gas check and PC have allowed me to go softer in rifle calibers.

The Lee Safety Prime claim to fame is the auto flip trays. You place a whole box of 100 primers under the tray, then flip the two over together so the primers dump in the tray. A few shakes and the textured surface of the safety prime tray flips...

Best of luck in finding what you need. You might also look into the Lee Safety Prime that mounts on the reloading press. Little finicky to get set right but once you do it works very well. I haven't needed to adjust mine in a couple of years. ...

There is a fly that lays its eggs in fire ants, not only does this kill the fire ants but even the presence of the flies causes the fire ant colony to not spread out as far or seek new territory as aggressively. They know that the flies mean death...

RogerDat replied to a thread Suggest ant traps in Our Town
I have used Terro a few times. Safe for pets, as long as not put out in massive quantities. Since the ants only need a small round dollop the size of a pencil eraser that works well for those of us with pets. Plus I can usually find a place to...

Judging from your avatar I would say the answer is obvious. We have a standard schnauzer that will dig a small "sniff" hole to decide which way the mole is. Then dig another hole to sniff for direction. Within 3 or 4 small holes Mr. Mole is...
