Joe - Seems like your coating is acting a lot like glaze that they put on ceramics, goes in the kiln white, comes out black :) I know a lot of people see a colour go on one shade and expect it to cure the same, just like painting a car, but it...

Some places come up with redundancy to legally push people out, someone my wife worked with was being a pain at her job, so they made her position redundant to legally get he out of the place. Glad your wife encouraged you, thankfully i started...

Hefty price to pay :( I'd go insane with having no life outside work. That's why we shoot isn't it? Gives us something to get us out of the house and talking **** with fellow shooters, is is that just me? :)

I can see it really messing with your body clock. If the pay is stupidly high and you don't have family commitments that could be stressed by it, it's doable, mostly when young. I know if i tried doing that now, I'd be divorced in short order as I'd...

I figured it must have been health care with those hours. I'm with you on thinking long shifts are silly, a tired nurse or doctor makes mistakes, why not have more smaller shifts on rotation? it just seems stupid to me to keep one person there...

It's a good starting point. I liked using my bottom pour pot with a lee 6 banger when i started, it did the job quite quickly, it wasn't unpleasant. Years later, gear has changed to an automated master caster so i can focus on other things...

If Hunter74 doesn't have what you want, Magma have a good range of moulds too, they are about $95 each which i felt was quite reasonable.

Can you try red loctite? that stuff when dry, is pretty tough! I'd think it would not let go with the torque of your motor. I'd avoid hitting it with a welder if at all possible, i don't know if there is any plastic inside the gearbox that could...

That is exactly what i was thinking, use the mix of colours as a base/primer, then a top coat to make them "pretty" saves wasting any coating.

Joe - Time to get your thinking cap on to get those fancy colours :) I know some people want pretty colours for their bullets, but at the end of the day, we all just want something that won't lead up our barrels and keep us away from lead when...

HELPING :P I'm partial to black, it looks neat, it's quite opaque so you can't see the lead under it and have people say ooh but the coating is too thin. With that said, i do like the metalic look i have seen on some colours. I can't remember...

All we need is your address... and to know when you order your next batch. Don't mind the guy in the ski mask digging through your letterbox, ok? :) When I see the green projectiles at my club, i know who made 'em :) it's your trade mark.

That is exactly my plan. I have a small PWM controller off ebay that i use to slow it down, i just need to tweak the flipper plate and angle of the base to get it reliably flipping. Too steep of an angle and projectiles will not flip, too shallow...

That is where i have been having issues with binding up while dropping into the tube. I need to spend more time to work out angles to allow the projectile to drop easier without jamming up the wheel.

With a stepper, i wonder if you could monitor the current draw instead of stallguard that i assume would jsut shut down?. If there is a power spike, you know it has stalled, and could possible get it to reverse a little then turn again to hopefully...

A stepper motor would be a pretty sweet setup actually. No back lash that geared motors have, i just don't know what the torque would be like, you can alter the speed as required. I'd like to see how one goes if you went that route. Easily adjusted...

That is a very clever idea. I'll need to give that a go next time i get hold of lead that may be contaminated with zinc. Good way to test unknown wheel weights to see if they are lead or not.
