Needing to buy more steel means you are selling your machines, time to add more happy customers to your list :)

It's nice to hear they helped return the favor of your kindness, not all people seem to think of helping others out. Wow, that's a decent stock pile of lead you have right there! I remember years ago, i had 800kg of range scrap stock piled, I...

I'd not survive without mine for 2 years :) Seems like a good deal to me, a machine you can tinker with and not mess with your other one. You can always sell later on if you decide to.

That is awesome, keep the pics and updates coming. This is exactly what i was planning on doing too, i wanted to make two friends for my current MC. I have most of the main parts sourced, just need time to actually get it done...... Every time i...

Those are some fine looking projectiles right there, well done! Glad it's all coming together as you had hoped, and its producing some great projectiles.

Good to hear you have it running well. I know that mine always needs tweaking for each session, different moulds and different air temperatures make it cast slightly different. You soon learn it's sweet spot and it will run great. Looking forward...

Very nice job. Hatch was working in a system to do this exact thing to cater for users that still wanted to operate their machines by hand, but due to arthritis or just laziness, the addition of auto-pour could be added easily. I know for one, my...

Really? i never thought it would demand THAT much air if you dropped it back to a suitable pressure to get the job done, but you are the one that would know. The compressor i use is rates at 14 CFM, so air supply is not an issue.

Personally, i'd go bigger. Best to have more power at hand than not enough. I feel that, pretty well any compressor can handle running air cylinders, they don't use a whole lot.

Very simple method of setting it up, well done. Do you have limit switches hooked up? So if there is a jamb up, the lead will not drop? That is one feature i feel was an excellent addition to the wyman/hatch setup. Mine is computer based with...

286? wow, that is an old setup. I never owned one, my first was an XT, then a 386, shows my age :( Does your cad software run on DOS? I guess we are spoilt with modern day fancy GUI interfaces to design things.

Yep a video is far better than pictures I love the idea of the water in the drums being displaced with compressed air, so simple and a way to keep the table "dry" when not in use. hehe shame you aren't THAT youtuber, he is quite entertaining....

Good to see you have made more progress, nice write up too. I wish i had that bench, would make setup easier than hands that always seem to get welding spatter on them while holding parts in place. That and magnetic clamps that never seem to be...

Hatch has proven his setup works, and works very well. I'd hate to know how many hours he spent developing it, multiple software updates on hos PLC code. The addition of a touch screen was a very nice touch. I was one of the fortunate people that...

I don't think the lead will leak out the gaps if it's not perfect, lead is still quite thick, water may leak between the two plates, but lead won't. Looks good, i bet you're itching to get it up and running

Wlkjr - That was the same reason Wyman did it, a joy stick style control would be easy enough to source. AlaskaScott - sounds interesting, can you post pictures of it? I can agree that the air side is a little noisy, thankfully where i use mine,...

Are you looking at making it semi-automatic like wymanwin did or full auto with the Hatch PLC addition? If you can't get in touch with Wyman, there is still plenty of information on here to get you up and running.

Point taken :) Yet, a turbo does have an oil supply to keep it lubricated. It does amaze me that the oil doesn't catch fire when the turbo is really hot like that, yet i know they don't run like that all the time, only when being really pushed.
