So Reck is the same as the other poorly made pistols Germany made at the time. A 25 blowing up a gun, wow. I had one of those 22LR german made revolvers. I got tired of fixing it, and chucked it. Back of the cyl was all dented from the hammer...

I messed with this today, a chunk of 45 cal muzzle loader barrel, and a piece of 22 barrel. It does look to be a feasible project. Problem would be cost. I would basically be ruining a 45 ACP barrel, cheapest I can find are the often questionable...

I worked as a tech at a dealer, and broke more snap on tools than craftsman. Have 2 sets of the S&K socket/ratchet, 3/8 and 1/4 drive, never had an issue out of them. Snap on, you have to wait for the guy to come buy to replace anything, even harder...

I could see where conventional lubed cast might be an issue in a 223 gas weapon. Trying to drive them hard enough to cycle the rifle might lead to issues. Powder coating seems to fix alot of that. I have driven a 55gr cast to 3000fps out of a...

Funny how big of variation these old rifles can give. I tried R22 as it showed was faster in a 7mm mauser at the old pressure. But 4831 was way better. I found the lowest velocity loss with fast powders in a short barrel Mosin. 29in down to 17in...

I have never seen a subsonic 223 load sold. And really was not that easy to come up with. I tried the various recipes on the internet, bullseye, tightgroup, or trailboss. All gave terrible results, its was the wide variations in velocity. One shot...

Would have thought all the Spanish rifles had bent bolts. 3 I have are all bent, 2 7mm, 1 308. But I guess not an actual bent bolt, one came with a scope set up, it has to be pretty high off the receiver for the handle to clear a scope.

From what I have read, the alloy frame guns are unobtanium. Basically the alloy frame guns did not hold up to use, so really rare to find one. But yea would be nice, the CZ75 PCR I bought recently is alloy and so much lighter than normal. Its...

The book data is based on the front crimp groove. Move it out to the rear one, the velocity will drop.

I bought one recently, local shop ordered one to see if it would sell. Might have been in the case a day. Handy little gun. Of course refused to feed anything but FMJ, an easy fix. Came w 2 mags, picked up 2 more. Took out the mag safety. Had read...

Most new cars they sell it as a unit. Just the way its done anymore. Sometimes you can find out the bearing number and buy direct. But way better off just unbolting the old one, bolting on a new one and away you go.

Its hard to know who is doing what anymore. Go buy a S&W it might be made by S&W or Walther. I bought one of their M&P compact 22s, thats made by S&W, but the full size isn't. Ruger, they all seem to do it anymore. Walther got absorbed by...

Traditions use to be CVA didn't they? Usually a reason they change the name, to avoid past ticked off customers. I had the chance to examine a traditions kit gun compared to an old CVA. Seems CVA was the better brand. I bought a Kentucky rifle...

I have a NOE ranch dog 165gr, sucks in my bolt gun. Drop the same round in my single shot, drills em. Not fond of the Lee 170gr, but tried it, sucks in my bolt gun, fine in the single shot. I messed with sizing, seating depth, made no difference in...

I have been running 460 in a blackhawk, a convertible with 45 acp cyl. I did not cut the chambers to 460, but trim the brass back to ACP length. The extra length must give enough neck tension to keep the bullets from moving under recoil, not like...

I have yet to find a cast bullet my 30-30 likes, old bolt action Stevens. The same bullets work great in other 30 cals, even my other single shot 30-30, just not the bolt gun.

There are piles of the 40 versions for sale vs 9mm. It really is pushing the design with 40, odd as everyone calls it slow and weak. I bought the 40 cal as its what they had, later they had a 9mm. Sent the 40 back to Kel Tech, cant say I even fired...

Yea $450 is not much less than a whole gun. I looked on their site the barrel they sell is 1-16, or what they used in 22 hornet, fine for a 40gr bullet but not much heavier. Green mountain had a 223/5.56 barrel in various twist for $57, so no...

I bought one of the SGM tactical mags, will be only one I buy. Even after messing with it where it works, its range use only. My 40 cal did the same sort of thing, gouged up the cases. Jewelers file and a dremmel fixed it in a couple minutes. I...

Im gonna look into the sleeved 45 barrel. I want a 22tcm, but no need for yet another gun, but a drop in barrel is not a big deal. I have a lathe so a barrel/sleeve would not be hard. And you can rent a reamer vs buying. Is there a market for these...
