Even with those young, kid eyes, I couldn't do it. At Parris Island, we trained with the M-14. We were taught- Sight picture was achieved by concentrating on the front sight (clear image), and the rear sight was expected to be 'fuzzy'.

For hunting and basic target shooting, a 4 or 6 power should do fine. Everybody has gone crazy for super high magnification, but it has drawbacks when not on a bench. Your field of view is cut way down, it often takes longer to acquire a moving...

Good looking project. I think I could have stretched something like that out from an hour, to about a month.

It's hot & humid here, but the company I worked for started in New Orleans. After that big hurricane I went down there for a couple weeks to help with the clean up. That place takes hot & humid to a whole new level. I called it 'Weather you can...

Too funny. That reminds me of Col. Cooper's back page column in the old Guns & Ammo magazine. He always had a obscure bit of wisdom under his article. Perhaps my favorite was 'Never unload your 1911 while standing over a water bed'. He never...

Next time, I think I will reach over to the dillon for the follower and give it a try. Hornady got with the program and sends a thin plastic rod as a follower for the tube on their AP-- same tube for their other primer tools and fit RCBS too....

Down there, its so humid, those bubbles might just be moisture in the air going to steam and getting trapped. But you're rocking along real well.

I bought a bunch of them and some AP pull downs at a gun show several years ago. I've loaded them in .30-06 and .300WinMag. They still work. I'd keep & shoot them for the novelty of them. As far as collector value- probably not much value...

Not bad. If they are new in the box, you may be able to trade up on that for used ones at the local tire shop, unless yours are old school non-zinc. Make your best deal, but trading 2-3 pounds of used ones for one pound of new ones in the box...

I like it. I hang out here a lot, and on a few other places including Fox News. With Fox, you can click on a article, and go wax your car or strip and clean a AR while it jumps around, blinks, and reloads until it finally settles down with all...

I use old partial rolls of 95/5 all the time, and they work fine. That mix sounds like you'll end up with boolits about as hard as Chinese Algebra. I'd thin it out about 50% with pure lead and try that. 50% wheel weights, and 50% pure lead is...

That's odd. For practice clearing a auto, and detecting flince or jerking the trigger- we mixed dummy rounds in with live ammo randomly. Our dummy rounds have a neck sized fired case with it's spent primer, and a projectile. Then on the...

A few years ago, a old widow woman a few houses down had a pair nest in her husband's old boat house. It stunk so bad you couldn't enjoy being on the patio if the breeze came in a certain way. She left them alone until the new ones graduated...

That reminds me- I had a Uncle that him & his buddy got their hands on a muzzle loading shotgun one time. They asked around about how to load and fire it for squirrel hunting. Going by what they were told, they used a old wasp nest for wadding...

Sorry to hear that. Over the years, I've had pets go over the Rainbow Bridge, but I still find myself expecting to see them when I come home.
