Marlin isn't the only one. My Rossi is the same way. This will save a great deal of frustration:...

PC is not the end to all ends. Think of it as a really good lube. Yes if you are going to go over 1400 fps use a gas check even with pc. I just powder coating with my Mauser and spent the day cleaning out the lead.

From what I understand its $250 for the bbl job. With all the low price guns out there that really shoot, sell or keep the 223 and put the $$ into a new gun. You can do what you want but Ruger makes the 350 legend rifle, Henry a single shot 357,...

I tuned mine up. Cork under the bbl at the front, mid bbl band and receiver screw. Polished up the trigger. Took the rear sight off and mounted a LER scope on the dove tail that remained. I have the Lee .314 boolit and the NOE 314299 mold. ...

kungfustyle replied to a thread BHN and Gas Checks in Gas Checks
the answer is 42, just kidding Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. But 14 should be a great candidate for gas checks. It does matter on the bn, people will chime in with all answers. For me, anything over 1400 fps, gc. PC from 1000 to 1400 and...

That would be cool. Nice find for your friend. Hard, if not impossible, to find a 4 cav rifle mold.

The Lee VM's never worked for me they were a starting point. Nothing wrong with the powder measure, the one I used to own leaked with ball powder (ACC #5, H110 etc.) If it works for you great, use it. Your best bet is to find your load/powder...

Looks like a golden opportunity to pay it forward. You were given some great reloading equipment, but you already have some great reloading equipment. Keep an eye out for someone getting started and gift them a peace or two. I just saw someone...

kungfustyle replied to a thread Ack! in Casting Equipment
The expander plugs are stepped. It expands the brass to say .307 for neck tension (smaller number) then just over the size of the boolit so it sits square for seating like a lyman "M" die ie .309. So you need to get a plug that is .01 or .02 over...

My Rossi does kick with 240g jacketed and 300g cast. It's not much fun to shoot. I love it but anyone else gets about 5 rounds out and hands it back to me. I have this boolit

Pewter is almost pure tin. Look at all the flee markets, craigs list, ebay garage sales etc for beat up pewter plates, cups anything. Sometimes you can get it cheap. Remember you only need 1 to 2 % so it shouldn't take much. Just be careful of...

I have an RCBS Uniflow with a small drum and a case activated powder drop. I have to say that was the best single investment for my turret press. If you prime on the press make sure all the little screws are tightened down (aka primer cup) and you...
