I love it when it works out like that. Top of the spear point of the bottom post is dead on at 50 yds. with my 35 whelens light load when the crosshairs are sighted in 2” high at 100 for the full bore load. Lol, your good to go.

You can’t go wrong either way. I went with the whelen in a tc encore and love it. It’s shot every cast boolit from 200to300gr. I’ve put in it extremely well, from 1275 FPS. to 2500fps. Still would like to have a short action bolt gun in .358 to go...

In my book Ugly is as Ugly does. A good looking gun that consistently has a problem loading the second or third round would be terminally ugly to me. I will admit that Hipoints won't win any constest based on good looks. But when it comes to...

Mine has let me know that she prefers to be refered to as "Her Royal Magesty" and gets her nose out of joint if I treat her like a common gun. (She thinks Magnum is another word for Royalty) Some days when the shooting is going well she will...

If you want fast you can use an instant pot pressure cooker to speed things up. Otherwise I go with a hambone and 1 to 2 lbs of Pinto's, soak overnight, rinse well, put in a slow cooker. Season as you see fit. Me I mostly leave mine pretty plain,...

You don't. Manuals, what I consider "good" sources list starting and max loads, list velocity, and pressure. Data that does not come with such information simply is not trusted as much. The other answer is you don't, but experience has...

I have shot the Lee .314 90 gr truncated cone sized to .311 over light loads of Red Dot with good results in .30-30. Seemed like the perfect rabbit/grouse load when deer hunting. Low noise. Rifle sighted for standard loads at 100 y shot dead to...

Some of the softer al. Checks “may” need heattreating or annealing to take the spring back out of them so they size tight and can’t be pulled off. I shoot mine up to 25, 2600fps. after that. Same and in some cases better accuracy as I get with...

I have one now, had 2. Shoot nothing but cast through it. 125 gr rnfp to the 158 gr round nose it loads and shoots them all. 3 to 4.5 grains of Red Dot is what I run. One of these days I should run a ladder test of 3.5 up to 4.5 3 shot...

I have avoided going to the dark side. Personally I prefer .20 or .22 for outdoors. .177 is fine for target or birds. But the bigger pellets put a lot more knockdown on furred critters.

Its a great place, stick around, lend a hand where you can. Truly unique in my experience and I've been on BBS's and internet forums since 96 every day since then.
