Just ordered one of those from Classic Firearms, should be here in a couple of days. Magazines appear to be pricey, starting at 50$ from Beretta, and working up to 70$ elsewhere. Will give a range report once I have a chance to shoot it. ...

I will say that while I thought minnesota's ban on lead for waterfowl was stupid and accomplished little or nothing, I made the jump to steel and learned to kill with it. I can see especialy on the big refuges, where you have loads of hunters...

I think they come from the haves vs the have nots. If you are a young man, working hard, have a wife, 2 children, a home, some possessions. And one of the have not's decides to take them from you. Pretty quickly you decide that rape, theft,...

I totally agree with Andy about a pump shotgun for in home. 20 ga is fine, keep it as short, light and easy to swing as possible. It is also very easy to put one of todays modern flashlights mounted below the barrel so she can turn the light on,...

GhostHawk replied to a thread .223 Handi in Cast Boolits
I had nothing but good results with Red Dot in moderate doses and cast lead 55 gr bullets in .223. In the end I settled on 2 loads, one with a bit more Red Dot and a gas check, and one with a bit less and no check. Both were minute of squirrel...

If you were determined to do it yourself. I think your best bet would be to use sand castings to create rods 3/4" thick and 4-6" long. Then true them up and turn them out on a lathe. This would get you your best precision. There are some...

I don't see that jacketed gives you that much better anything. In Cast there are molds from 200 to 300 grains, easy to find. With a revolver I doubt you would be breaking the 1400 fps mark, so you should not need gas checks. With jacketed the...

Go look at the barrels available for sale on evilbay. Prices range a lot from pretty reasonable for common to 500$ for rare. Receivers can still be found in the 75-85$ price range, stocks from 50-100$. Then there can be some issues with...

Like longshot, clean bore when accuracy declines. Then feed it enough to get it back in the groove, and leave it alone. I learned the hard way, cleaned my ruger 10/22 the night before a big rabbit drive. POI shifted at least 2.5 inches at 100...

I have made my own mostly for pistols. Take an empty case, punch the primer out, fill with hot melt glue. Offers some cushion, springs back pretty well. If it gets too beat out I just dig it out and redo it. Costs next to nothing.

While the Lee Universal may not do exactly the same thing than a "M" die does. It does flare the neck enough to allow you to load cast easily. I started out with a tapered center punch and a light hammer. Compared to that the Lee is a precision...
