Lol. we did it again...posting at the same time. Yes, i think most of the time pressure versus your alloy. To fast a start can do bad things trying to get that boolit started straight in the bore. Thus my mention of slow for cal. or capacity...

Well i see we were posting close together....i see you've loaded cast before and probably aware of some of the things i mentioned. If it were me loading for a .358 for speed, i'd probably go with the 200 gr. noe i mentioned before. it casts...

When i referenced the boolits in my post above, those loads were worked up in a 35 whelen and not a .358. To get anywhere near those speeds of 24 to 2500 with any kind of accuracy i had to use slow for cal. powders like 4350 and slower with cast. ...

The noe 360200 usually weighs about 215gr. checked and lubed. It's a good one to try for speed with. The noe 360230 puts the smack down on white tails. I,ve pushed it to 2400fps. But usually shoot It at 2200 for woods hunting white tails. Both of...

I agree with Bookworm. I have no problems getting moa and better accuracy with Ben's Red or BLL at 2500 fps. in my .308. Even with unweighed and just visual sorted boolits it stays well under 1.5" moa. @ 110 yds. I can do the same thing with my ...

Well I have 3 Minnesota guns that I know they don't have my paperwork on. One from South Dakota that will point them to my father in law. Pawn shop find, got him to fill out the paperwork for me. Most of the rest have had 4473's filled out for....

The problem with preps is once they are gone growing really is your only option. Unless you can trade a skill, knowledge, other materials for food, which I'm all in favor of. Just remember if you bug out, either alone or with a very small...

I do that very thing with cphp for a couple of airguns. I just use the end of a plastic ball point pen to flare the hollowpoint a bit and had a definite increase in accuracy. Crosman piranahs don't seem to need this in my airguns, but the premier...

I'm with nobade. See what you have first. Then if you have the H&R long leade, consider trying .360DW brass rather than reaming. I have a .357 mag and mine takes full length .360 brass without trimming. And I set my cast boolits out farther...

I sat rubbing my hands with Glee as I melted down the 6.5 lb score my wife brought home for 11$. That stuff was cast in a machine, lived a long full life. Now it gets added to a pot of lead and lives again as a shiny cast boolit. Nope, no...

I have been known to slip 2 slugs into the bore in order to get far enough in some cases. My .357 handi rifle was one. Bored long enough to accept untrimmed .360dw brass and still I have to crimp in the top lube groove to get close to the...

.223 barrel alone is worth that. .243's have a somewhat rocky reputation. I think mostly they don't like the longer bigger bullets. Stick to 80's and smaller and do a good load workup and you should be fine. Receivers alone are 70-90 for SB2...
