I'll jump in behind cosmoline one. Once he has a chance to conclude his business, I'll post an "I'll take it." if it's still available. Both for $43 shipping included. 725

Bob Hoyt. He's done several barrels for me and he is a wizard. Honest, too.

725 replied to a thread Need help. 45/70 in Cast Boolits
The .45-70 is an easy round to load. So many combos work very well. I've done mild to wild and quickly came back to mild. Have hunted bear, deer, & wild boar with the cartridge and I'll never go hot again. Everything fell quickly & humanely...

Seems no matter what, those heavy boxes are handled roughly. Bag the brass well inside and do what you can to reinforce the exterior. Mine always look like the mail lady dropped mine off at 40 MPH.

Are you planning to smelt the brass into workable material? I've got a large box of .40 S&W.

Yours for the asking, 24 PPU 7 mm Rem Mag brass. De-primed, cleaned, full length sized, polished, & annealed. Bought same from here at Castboolits and it was advertised as once fired. Internal exam at the normal stretch point confirms that it...

I can't remember which model Lyman was a slow twist (made for round ball) and which had a faster twist for the conicals. If you have the slow twist barrel, I doubt you'll get much accuracy trying the various conicals out there. The good news would...

Me either! When it's brass trimmin' time, I clear the decks and organize my works space. I use the Lee zip trim and can speed through a pile in less than a headache. Couple hundred at a time is no problem.

725 replied to a thread 500 yards for 300 bucks in Factory Rifles
All the stuff noted above is spot on. To do it on the cheap, I measure the C.O.A.L. by the following: 1 - Unload the gun 2 - Close the bolt on an empty chamber (cocked, so the firing pin is retracted). 3 - With a stiff, square faced,...

I would suspect the original problem starts with the chamber of the rifle. Wouldn't be surprised if the semi-auto had a kind of wide opening to help feeding. If so, the discharge expands the brass to the "larger" chamber opening. Who knows if...

725 replied to a thread .50 vs .54 in Muzzleloading.
As noted by all above, they both work, and pretty much as expected, bigger is more. Want more punch, thump & recoil, go .54. Want a smidgen less, go .50. Those 1 - 48 barrels shoot most everything OK. Only experimentation with your...

Two items for sale: 1 - I have two, metal, barrel attachments designed to hold a "mini-mag" type light. Each are aprox. 2.5" long x 2.2" tall. Essentially two metal tubes together (top .845 dia. x .72 dia. bottom - ID.) I intended to put them...

If you can't get the action open, better do that dry firing in a safe place/direction. 50% / 50% acetone / ATF. Soak a bunch of it, then tryb to open.
