My Type 53 measures out at .315. It shoots well with a 316-299 cast out of hard lead , GC'ed and powder coated. The rifle has a Russian copy sniper scope on it and does very well at 100 yards with RL 7 powder. I think I am shooting around 20...

Just try neck sizing your brass and only shoot it in that rifle. I have had to do that with lots of rifles , especially my 303 Lee Enfield.

I rust my barrels at least 4 times just to get them blued evenly. But I have to do them at least 6 times to get a Good Finish.

Just a suggestion. We Boil the distilled water when we are Rust Bluing. I might try putting a Cover over my boiling tank that has a tube that leads out to a Condensing coil that drips into a container to collect the boiled off water. That way you...

Lucky I had bought a few gallons of water weeks ago ,(not because of the virus) , but just because I have a bunch of barrels to blue. But my wife works in a grocery store , and I can find out when more water is coming in, ( plus her employee...

You do not need to use a Rust Cabinet with Slow Rust Bluing. I just hang my parts in a bathroom that has been steamed up from the shower. The steam does not have to be constant. Steam up the room , hang the parts and shut the door for a few hours...

Any Acid will remove Bluing. Or Rust for that matter. Citric acid works slower than Vinagar , and a lot slower than Muratic or Hydrochloric acid. But they are still all acids. And bluing in fact , is Rust. You just don't want an acid strong...

White vinegar. If you add Hydrogen peroxide to it it works even faster. Or water diluted Muratic Acid. I use both for taking off bluing and Rust. Naval Jelly is what I use to use and is great if you need to work on a spot and not the whole part...

I also tumble my Buckshot cast in a Lee mold. I seems to load better , and you don't have to rattle it around in the shell to get all the shot to settle. besides , the bag of shot looks better and not like a clump of mis shaped hunks of lead.
