I have been with Charles Schwab since 'before the Internet' (80's), have been very pleased, they do not bother you, but do help. Your bank might be another place. In today's world, stock certificates are seldom held by individuals with your name...

In 1997 I worked up some 300 grain jacketed 45-70 loads that approached 2400 fps with AA2200 without signs of excessive pressure. Case was full and I do not care to compress ball powders. I was running 2015 at over 2200 fps so did not chase more...

Haven't found any powder the can't be replaced or improved upon. Started with Hi-Vel#2 in the 30-30, 2400 for the 22 Hornet. Went to 3031 for the 30-30 and now use Accurate 2015. Changed from 2400 to IMR 4227 for the Hornet, did not like that...

I do have a Herter's primer pocket swage to 'remove' miltary primer pcoket crimp. I know I have used the large rifle swage, pretty sure I have the small rifle in the same place. The large rifle swage was designed to fit in a 30-06/308 shellholder,...

I've pulled a trailer about that size across I-80 into the Wyoming mountains quite a bit with a 2003 Silverado 1/2 ton, 4 wheel drive, 5.3. I did have the factory towing set-up and 4.11 rear-end put in when I ordered it. I spend a lot of time...

I have chamfered several Savage 99's - 300, 308 and 358. I used a short chamfer with a hex shank and a flexible shaft available for hex screwdrivers. I remove the bolt and the flex shaft lets me reach the chamber edge through the action. I turn...

I have a Savage 99 300 Savage, has been loaded since 1981(?) except when shooting, practicing, cleaning. Shoots 150 grain Hornady Spire Points into MOA with 44 gr IMR 4064 or now 44Gr Varget. Had a Burris 3-9 Compact on it when I hunted it. ...

After some research last year I went with a Firman. It is quiet and I was concerned about size and weight for loading. I also liked the idea for a remote electric start for those cold mornings. I was/am happy with it. I also considered their...

I believe HEAT is the primary enemy of barrel, given proper protection from weather/humidity/whatever. Mostly boolits use smaller powder charges at lower pressures creating less heat. Friction due to bullet speed and hardness moving through the...

I have a Lee 429-214-SWC that works well in a couple of Bulldogs. The 200 gr 'Cowboy' bullets should also work well. I have used 240's in the Bulldogs but the 200's and 214's are more fun(less recoil). NOE has has 432-224 SWC also. A 200-230gr...

I have used a vise (smooth jaws) to compress a few bullets to try a fatter bullet. After a few you can get a uniform result. After size is determined, the 'right' sizer or a fatter mold can be acquired.

3031 is a good powder for the 30-30, been around a VERY VERY long time, I used it from 1965 for many years. Changed to Accurate 2015 when it became available, measured much better, worked as well, was cheaper, recently switched to Leverevolution, ...

RCBS makes(made?) a case neck reamer that held the case and guided the reamer to hold center. Do not know accuracy, but it looked better than just running a reamer into case. I have used a both the neck reamer and outside turning. Works best...

I carry a S&W 638, wife carries a Taurus 851 (S&W638 clone) with CrimsonTrace Laser. We like the protected hammer and single action capability, easier to hit the actual 6lb smelly black and white skunks while staying out of range (20 ft). Snake...

I've got Henry Levrguns in 22 LR and 17 HMR, I now wish that the 17 HMR was a 22 WMR. After shooting a couple smaller critters, I don't think the 17 HMR is very effective on game. Accurate and pleasant to shoot out past 150 yards, but I think...

First, they are shooting, that's a good thing. How do you judge? I have my own range, capable of a 1000 yards plus. Mostly do 100 and 200, walking back and forth to check targets(exercise). How fast you go can make a differenc. Start a timer and...

Powder position? Do you raise the muzzle, lower the muzzle, keep the muzzle level when shooting DA vs SA. Powder against primer will USUALLY result in more velocity than powder forward against bullet. Recoil and gun handling can change powder...

I have a bunch of Savage 99's, we hunt everything with them. We use a couple in 358 Win on elk, a .243 and 300 Savage for antelope. Most of our practice and boolit shooting are through a couple .308's. My 'walking around' rifle is a feather...
