Don't shy away from using some smokeless powders in BPC rifles as long as you follow the rules. I use H4198 and IMR4198 in a number of British black powder cartridge rifles but always use a filler in the case. Foam backer rod works beautifully....

They look like 44 Schoefield but without scale, it is hard to tell. Please show how your dies are mounted on your machines. Is this something that could be done on a 20ton shop press?

I'm pretty sure that the barrel in question would either be discarded or a candidate for a rebore so no real risk of ruining it. Is there such a thing as ruining it more? Ross Seyfried wrote an article about fire lapping a barrel that...

Don't take my comment on your low post count as a criticism. You clearly have the skill and knowledge that few others do and I expected that at your advanced ability you would have more posts. I for one hope you flood the forum with posts and...

I can attest to the water resistance of primers. Just the other day, I somehow got a primed case in with my batch of 500ne in the wet tumbler. Set them in the sun to dry and then deprimed them. I use a pin and a mallet for this. All was going...

I would say to use a universal decapper to deprime and avoid a full length resize. That way you are insured that the case has an intimate fit with the chamber, that is if you get them adequately fireformed to the chamber. A light crimp on the case...

Huvius replied to a thread More Tight Wad Swaging in Swaging
D, that's exactly what the new development involves except it just so happens that my core mold for my .451 swaging is an exact fit for these 40S&W cases! The rub is that I will have to trim all of them exactly before the fill and my trimmer won't...

Huvius started a thread More Tight Wad Swaging in Swaging
So, after my positive experience making .458" boolits from 45acp brass, I thought I would give making some for my 10.75X68 Mauser. Keep in mind that this boolit can be used in the 404 Jeffery as a nice plinking or small game boolit. Using fired...
