fluxing and reducing are necessary evils only if you want clean lead. I guess if you want a bunch of junk in your castings or a clogged spout you don't need to clean anything. one thing about pure or near pure lead is it oxidizes like crazy and...

leave the mold turned over. the bullets come out that direction too. then you can use both hands to turn the mold back over. if that's you and your dumping them in a bowl try using a box or a towel then you can rest the mold on the bench some...

well the best you can hope for is they didn't screw up the powder type or read the powder amount wrong. I made a batch of 25-06 and transposed the last 2 numbers and ended up re-thinking things when it nagged at me. I got in a nice afternoon of...

the most penetration through bone I have ever got was by using a .0030 thick copper wrap on a cast bullet and slowing it waay down to 2350 fps. that only made it 8"s through the shoulder and spine and through the other shoulder.

In machining, chatter is the vibration that feeds on itself as the tool moves across the part. What you have appears to be a broach cut barrel using a dull or damaged broach. The damage areas are from the base metal tearing due to the dull or...

that would surely fix it... it's a repetitive motion that's causing the problem. go stand at your pot and see what motions your making one of them is causing the stress. simply raising/lowering the pot. building a box to rest the mold on....

I would look at the sprue plates themselves. many times they need a slight re-cut at the top and/or a burr taken off the bottom. if there is anything like a parallel leading down into the fill hole the sprues will lock up pretty easily. but...

the lithium grease will let you down in high temps. stick to something more like 3 parts wax to 1 part lithium grease. you can add carnuba to the mix but 3% is all you need. if you want it to be a little softer add some Vaseline 1 tsp to 2 ozs of...

There is no direct correlation. Low SD and ES don't become a factor until the yardage gets long for that cartridge and target size small. A simple example is 308 in match rifles. At 200 &300 yards group size is my primary concern since poor...

8% antimony is more like 18bhn. 3% antimony is more what your looking for. you been running probably 1.25-1.5% with your 50-50 mix. after waiting them out a month or so after water dropping your getting your 15-16 bhn.
