I gotta say, this thread is disheartening for me. I have been saving for a nice lever action, sold some stuff, etc. and I have always wanted an 1873. I was leaning toward the Uberti. I was going to choose the 45 Colt as I don't load for the...

I don't own a Uberti (yet) but I have always had excellent results with the Lee 452-255-RF mold. In my Rossi, Marlin (that I sold) and my Vaquero and Blackhawk I shoot these bullets as cast with no sizing, one very light coat of BLL. This...

My Marlin needed .454" bullets for best performance. I ended up shooting those in my Vaquero and Blackhawk also. Are you sure about the twist rate on the Marlin? If so then I may have to look into one of those.

If you have one of the affected rifles, like I did, contact Lyman via email. They will send you a shipping tube with packing material, etc. to return just the barrel. They ask that you remove the sights, pack up the barrel and send it back. In...

I'm happy to hear that you liked your new Marlin. I also have one of the new 1894C's and I couldn't be happier. It looks good and is very accurate. Steve in N CA

Outstanding! I am glad to hear this. I have two new 2018 built Marlins in my safe, one in 357 mag and one in 45-70. I couldn't be happier with them. Keep up the good work. Steve in N CA

In my 1895CB I have settled on the Lee 405, beagled, sized to .459" and lubed with Randy's Tac-X. I load them over 11 gr of Unique. Easy on the gun, easy on the shoulder, and puts them into a small group at 100 yards.

I use alox in rifle loads up to 1800 fps and have had no leading. I only use one very light coat on well fitting, gas checked bullets in 3 or 4 calibers. In plain-based rifle bullets I load to 1400 fps with no problems. The 1800 fps is by no...

sghart3578 replied to a thread xlox in Boolit Lube !
I second what ShooterAZ said. Bullet fit is first. No lube will help you if the bullets are undersized. Then a very, VERY light coat of alox. For 38 cal bullets I use about 1/2 teaspoon per 100 bullets. And I also thin my alox with a...

Hello, I have a RCBS Turret Press for sale in very good shape. It comes with 4 turrets total. Somewhere I have the primer tubes and other parts. I will find them in my shed. I don't use them as I prime off the press. I would like to get...

Maybe, But almost every deer I have ever taken was from some kind of support. Either a log, the hood of a truck, etc. Only one was taken standing un-supported. He stepped out 35 yards away. Not exactly challenging, even for me. And you...

While I can't necessarily help with your jacketed loads, my best accuracy for my 150gr and 170gr loads with cast comes from IMR 3031. A close second has been H4895.
