I said "all but .006" of the driving bands" if SAAMI spec'd the case at .613" and the Anschutz reamer cuts the chamber at .619" then all of the driving bands are into the leade ins except for .006" because the chamber is .006" longer than the case.

The load is great. The alloy, is too hard, you will get a 30 caliber pass thru with little or no expansion. Like you say you have time to develop and practice, I would see how soft you can go and still stay in 2" @100yds. That's not asking the...

Here is the SAAMI drawing of cartridge and chamber. SAAMI lists brass as .613" with chamber length of .643" so that puts the first .030" of driving band in the chamber not the throat, the rest of the driving band is crammed into the rifling leade...

From the dimensions of the reamers given, the 2 degree or 1 degree 30min angle on the leade ins is the biggest difference noted in the match chambers as compared to the 5 degree called for in SAAMI 22LR chamber drawings. I wouldn't begin to guess...

That boolit needs spin to stabilize. Drive it hard and it will perform.

If you were to take the barrels out and post some pics of the chambers looking into the throat, maybe others could have something more to go on. Now.. Not to start a conflict or any arguments, not picking sides or cutting anyone's pistols down,...

Elk has a very thin outer bark layer, the core or pith often has to be filled to make revolver grips. Sambar stag by comparison has a rather thick outer bark layer, axis deer antler is the hardest antler on the planet, with a pencil thin core in...

Throughout this forum you will often see a reference to 50/50 + 2% this means 50% pure lead 50% Co w w and 2% tin. This alloy is soft enough to scratch with a thumbnail yet malleable enough to stay together when it hits bone and it is about the...

They both would work. I have never been a fan of TL boolits, some folks can get them to work, but that TL432-243RF would be a good hunting boolit if you can get it to shoot accurately. Cast in 50/50+2% or other soft alloy. I'd probably choose the...

I do NOT agree with this at all. If you use hardcast, of course there is no expansion. Nobody would purposely use hardcast for a whitetail, maybe for brown or grizzly, or hogs but not deer or even elk. I got away from the Jhp for deer because...

Personally I would not give a DA, Judge, Lawyer or prosecutor ANYTHING they could use in their favor. Handloads belong in the deer woods or at the range, maybe, MAYBE at one's home residence, but not for edc on the street. Especially not hot...

Good shot! I bet there is a LOT less doubt now about the lowly 325gr than before! I never doubted it for a second. I seen my own 320s go through 3 and a half feet of seasoned oak firewood and keep going, there ain't a bear in the lower 48 that...
