Now I'm wondering if your if the lead would rather go out the bleed hole than fill the nose. The path of least resistance. Maybe try warming up your die with a heat lamp, and your lead to 150 or so degrees F.

I wonder if the voids could be lube build up in the die. Does the nice, filled out point come right after cleaning the die? Does your die have a bleed hole?

Can anyone tell me the thread size for screw that hold the fore end on? Someone buggered up the threads and I'd like to clean em up before I put a new one in. My tired old eyes just can't see the pitch gauge on such short threads.

Ordered brass, j bullets and dies this morning for the swede. Will probably take it deer hunting in November if I can find suitable glass. I think I have a 2-7 Leupold somewhere. The No 1 is number 16 in the safe. All but one shoot 1.5, 6 or so...

Went to look at intending to buy a Ruger #1 in 7x57. I bought it. But a Win 70 FWT in 6.5x55 was crying out to come home with me too. Not to familiar with 6.5 but planning on learning.

What I found out: Don't use cheap coax. if your run is more than 50 ft. by the best. Scan your area for the frequency band, ie: 2, 12, 17, and match your booster to them. I get band 12 at my house, one mile north I get band 2, one mile east I...

For larger punches, I use 1144 steel, Some of the old swagging material called it "stressproof". Grade 5 bolts are very similar to 1144 steel. I encourage you to use the material you can get. Is the 1080 spring steel straight, and hard. Or does...

So a gage pin 7.74mm will show you how much of the punch length should get tapered. That might be enough to get some lead bleed out. If not, turn another pin to 7.73mm

Alter the cheapest part first. You have less time into the punch. Maybe you could make a gage pin, turn it to 7.64 mm to see how far it goes in

Tin makes lead tough. Tough cores can cause dies to crack. If your using 7/8" outside diameter dies you might want to keep the credit card handy.
