Thank you Wayne and Char-Gar for your excellent posts. Now: if they wrote hymns like this anymore there wouldn't be so much trifling dissent; from "Crown Him with many crowns" Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time; Creator of the...

Longbow sent me some of his nicely cast .678 balls, range lead IIRC, ~ 465 grains, to test in my rifled 3" 870. Loaded 10 in new 12 ga. Cheddite 3" hulls, 38 grns Alliant Steel powder, Nobel Sport 1 oz wads, 1 - 20 ga hard card in wad, a little...

In my testing I originally used hard lead, not so good. The next were soft, weighed about 522 and results were much better. Of course moving scope can create problems but the soft lead is the way to go.

That caliber is not the best for cast. With nosler ballistic tip 130 gr jwords you can prolly shoot cloverleafs at 100 though.

Come off the listed loads several grains for a better experience and put a 20 ga 1/8" hard card in the bottom of the wad cup to keep the wad from jamming the wad up into the cavity. I obtained much better results using the 7/8 oz slug overall.

BT, The above mentioned mold is far and away my buck mold of choice. It produces remarkable consistent size and weight pellets with no tedious sprue cutting. I use hard 7.5% antimony lead, cast enough for 25 shells or so, then put the pellets in...

This time for 20 gauge. Shooting paper will drive you nuts with a shotgun but it's really the only way to quantify results. Had in mind a great 3" 20 ga load using the "0 1/2" pellets from that 6 cav. mold. I use very hard (7.5%) antimony lead. ...

Well Don there is the old joke about the man rescued from a desert island where he had been stranded for years. One of the rescuers marveled at 3 buildings on a hill and asked the man about them. "The one on the left is my house. The one in the...

I have a terminal personality disorder and even know its name - SIN! It was on display vividly one day at work last week as I "flung a fit" because things didn't go to suit me. I was rude, ugly, thoughtless, prideful, dishonored God, spoiled my...
