I have recently obtained a 480 Ruger Red Hawk pistol with 7.5 inch barrel. I have two molds for it a 325 grain GC and a 400 grain PB. Both are Lee molds. I would appreciate info on powders and loads for these two bullets if anyone has any experience...

Veral Smith of LBT fame wrote a booklet called Jacket Performance With Cast Bullets and in it he had a chapter on hardening and heat treatment of cast bullets. In this chapter he wrote about aging of heat treated bullets and he found that will reach...

I use the Lee 40 cal 175 grain standard grove bullet in a 40 cal and a 10mm and it works well in both. Some adjustment in alloy may be needed to tweek it just so but for my money it is hard to beet Lee bullet molds.

My Lyman slug mold cast flat nose, hollow base slugs that resemble overgrown air rifle pellets that weigh with my alloy 470 grains. I shoot them in a Rem 1100 slug gun with rifled barrel. To date my best load consists of Rem. low brass black hulls,...

I've been using the Prvi 7.5x55 brass for a couple years and it is good stuff. It has worked in three rifles without a hitch. I'm on the seventh loading of some and no sign of them wearing out.

My 458 SOCOM has mid length gas system and I shoot many 300 grain cast bullets through it with no problems in function or brass.

I have the same question. In the .556 I don't recommend a carbine length gas system. On my match rifles I extend the rifle length gas system 2". I have zero experience with the 458 SOCOM but everything I have read states the carbine length gas...

That would be my point. Consumers rejected lower velocity of the 17 HM2. A low velocity 17 HMR load would fair no better.

The upstate area of SC where I am basically got a pass. A fair amount of rain, but nothing major. The crazy thing is the rivers are still flooding as the water makes its way to the coast.

Go to the Accurate Mold web site and look around, there at hundreds of patterns that he can make or he will make one up based on your pattern. They are offered in aluminium, iron, or brass. Very happy with mine.

They do it's called the 17 Mach 2 but it didn't sell well and the gun manufactures made the chambers too loose in the semi-auto's so neck and case splits are fairly common. I have several and really like them but I purchased 8K of ammo at a...

I have been using it as pure tin in my casting and have had great results. I cast from 22 cal up to 50 cal bullets and all in between. It seems that the copper in it makes for a slightly harder bulled without any brittleness. On my Saeco hardness...

4.0 grains of Hogdon Clays is my go to load. 45 is my favorite, but it can be picky to get set up on. That being said, once you figure out how much to Bell the cases, and how much to crimp, it works fine. Starting with a factory round as...
