the 1.5 lbs of antimony you add would be 3% of 50 lbs. base your weights in parts of 100 lbs total to come out at percentages. if you look at how antimony hardens lead versus a BHN scale thing look weird. 12% antimony gives 22 bhn, 5-6%...

try filling from back to front. I see a big difference in mold temp just from the front cavity getting poured first then sitting under the pot while the back one is last and is out in the air more. switching up the cadence to keep the alloy in the...

go with the cheaper alternative. if you got antimony you got choices and can manipulate the BHN.. if you go with tin you just add more $ to the pot.

practice. just doing a few more sessions will get you up to speed. stop admiring the boolits and just go after seeing them a few hundred times your eyes will go straight to where they need to be and you can get back to keeping heat built up in the...

put your alloy temp back down. more like 700 is all you need 725 maybe if your loafing along. all that lead your putting in the cavity's is heat, keeping the mold up to temp should be no problem. you just need to get all the cutting oil out of...

about that. I like to start out a touch hard and bump the Vaseline until it gets where I want it. I like my lube to be about as hard as silly putty with a little sticky to it.

No not sized yet. After powder coating it should be a .358 diameter and is currently at .360 diameter. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk

they put weight limits on them. you can't stuff 120 lbs of lead in a box well you can,,, but they won't take it.

the home made bullets can be touchy about powder amounts. I generally move towards the faster powders like H-322 and AA-2230 with them.

I know my 38-40 rifle and revolver did not have the same cartridge dimensions. pretty common for the caliber. from the choices above I'd be more inclined to go with the 44 special. a quick chop-thread-recut and re-install of a 44 mag Barrel and...

I would say you got the right length then. rcbs shows bulls-eye at 1.5-2.0grs 231/hp-38 and unique are at 2-2.5 if your in/below that area I'd say your safe.

you don't need the carnuba. use the old nra formula of b-wax/paraffin and Vaseline it will work just fine. throw the alox in since you got it. your looking for a squishable viscosity.

the last rumor I heard was they were going to close about 30 stores. I'm not going to speculate on what they should do or how they got to this point, but their business model seems to be pretty normal for the sporting goods industry.

I have both. the 44 is silver the 45 is blue that's how I tell them apart. other than that they get the same powder loads and reloaded the same way.
