Battis replied to a thread Prilosec in Our Town
I've been using Protonix for many many years with no problems that I know of. I couldn't tolerate Prilosec or Zantac.

Just curious - what happens to the roundball when you seat it? Does it deform, does the rammer cut into the ball, etc?

Will you try firing a round or two to see if they work the bolt?

I'd be more concerned with the amount of powder in the cases. I bought some .351 WSL rounds online, and for the heck of it I pulled some bullets and measured the charge. It varied from 17 grs to approx. 21 grs (unknown powder). I make 32WSL from...

I did not try annealing the brass. I probably should. My problem is that I only took it to the point where it works (and works well) but I never tried improving it. Also, the .32 WSL came with about 75 factory rounds, so the last few times that I...

This is what I do and it works: I run the new 32-20 brass through the 32 SL die, then expand the case mouth slightly. I size and de-prime the fired 32-20 brass in a 32 SL die, then neck size in a 32-20 die, then expand the case mouth slightly....

I'm going to throw this out as an historical reference only. Originally, Colt intended the "wedge screw" to act as a depth check, to adjust how far the wedge goes in. I have an original 1851 Colt .36 and an 1860 .44 Army, and the wedge screws...

Battis replied to a thread SD trip in Our Town
We went to Hot Springs - my wife did the mammoth site tour. We drove through Spearfish Canyon. Legends is popular on weekends - we stood in line for 20 minutes on a Saturday to find out that the wait would be almost an hour to get in. During the...

Battis replied to a thread SD trip in Our Town
We planned to go back to Crazy Horse but we had to head north (we went there 2 yrs ago). We signed up for a wine club in Hill City two years ago. Maybe someone can answer this - what is that great, sweet, flowery odor that's everywhere in SD? ...

Great trip. Flew to Rapid City and saw and did everything within a 2 hr radius. Walked the 3 mile route around Devils Tower, hiked all the way to the rocks at the top of Mt Moriah (after paying respects to JB Hickok), ate at Legends. Went to Mt...

Here's a link to a thread on this forum that describes a method to change the buffer. I like the idea of a pin in the end of the rod better than the nut that I used but either will work. If you can pull back the spring in your gun enough to...
