I'm looking for info on disassembling (and later assembling) the bolt on a Spanish Destroyer. I have the bolt out of the rifle, I have the extractor off, but how do you remove the firing pin? On second thought... Realizing that I could most...

Put a cap on a nipple (if it has to be pushed down, and doesn't fit all the way on, it's too small; if it is loose, pinch it on) and fire it off. Nothing wrong with a strong mainspring - a weak one can be a problem. If the nipple flash holes are...

I bought one recently. I fired it, using 1.1 grs Bullseye and .321 roundballs sized to .311 (flat on top and bottom). Fun gun. I bought the brass from Midway. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1021324587?pid=785492

Triple 7 is 15% hotter than BP. I use the vegetable spray PAM (or a cheap substitute) for lube. But, and this is important, you must clean your gun very well after using PAM. I completely strip and clean my BP guns so it's not a problem. I found...

One thing about GoodRX is that they will not tell you if you can get the drug cheaper somewhere else. I was all set to buy a drug through GoodRX that my insurance no longer covered, and for the heck of it I called my regular pharmacy and asked them...

Cutting out for the mag well wasn't too hard. I have a Dremel tool and a Rotozip, but I can't find the depth setting attachment for either. I put the Dremel carving bit in the drill press, set the depth and moved the grips under the bit, which for...

I like the contrast - the grips go well with my purse...I mean holster. I used a Dremel carving bit in my drill press to cut out the back of the grips to fit over the mag well. I bought them from LS Grips. Good price, well made.

I bought a set of carved wooden grips cut for the ambi safety. They arrived today and they look really good, but...there's no cut out for the Rock Island mag well. No big deal - I'll cut it out with a Dremel. Yep, I could send them back but I...

2 bad coils, solenoid for torque converter, and the throttle body (not the sensor - there is a difference, right?) and it runs great.

I thought it out a little more and realized I don't need a top strap. I won't carry it except at the range. Not a good idea to leave guns on the bench when you go set up targets. With that in mind, I bought a Fobus-type holster.

I just recently started shooting the Rock Island 1911 .45. I noticed that the metal edge is peening where the hammer rests. It's only visible with the slide off. I thought it might be a carbon buildup or whatever, but it's metal. I don't dry...

I carry right handed. The grip safety is a good point.

Now that I got the grips for my Rock Island 1911 .45, I'm thinking about a holster. I probably won't use it as a carry gun but it'd be good to have one at the range. The gun has an ambi safety, and from what I read that can be a problem because...

So did I. They changed two coils, all the plugs, and the solenoid for the torque converter (not the converter as I posted before) and flushed the transmission. It ran well for a day - no bucking- then it stalled. The code was from the accelerator...

Battis replied to a thread Remington Model 8 in Factory Rifles
I've seen two in Maine in the last year (Cabela's and Kittery Trading Post). Each was selling for $800+. I have one, but if I didn't I would have grabbed one of the two. This is a good video. He also has a video that shows how to disassemble and...

This is what the gun looks like (this isn't mine but it's the same gun). My wife likes the grips that are on it. Would wooden grips look strange on this gun?

This question came up: why change the grips on a 1911 but not any other handguns? I did not have an answer.
