I agree. That's why I questioned what the store was telling me. They saw the Star of David and associated it with Israel, not the manufacturer.

In reading posts on other sites, apparently some Chilean and Brazilian Mausers have the same star. It would be a great addition to a collection, even if it's not perfect. I have the Swedish Mauser, Argentine Mauser, and two Krags.

I have to reduce the size of the pics before I can upload them. As far as being an "Israeli re-issue", from what I've read, the Israelis were desperate for guns, but they had access to more modern guns than the 1893 7mm Mausers, and mostly went...

I was looking at an 1893 7x57 Spanish Mauser tonight. The store says it's an "Israeli re-issue" based on the apparent Star of David stamp. I've been searching online for some time now, and I'm still not sure if they're right or not. There's a lot...

Battis replied to a thread 351 wsl in Case Forming / Re-forming
I tried the 357 Max brass but for some reason, the case mouths kept getting dented and folded over. It doesn't happen with the shorter 357 Mag brass. I bought an AR brass catcher and it's not bad, though I might modify it a little. I found the...

Battis replied to a thread 351 wsl in Case Forming / Re-forming
I recently bought a second WSL .351. I changed the recoil spring and buffer and fired off some .351 rounds made from .357 brass. Works as well as my first rifle. To reduce the diameter of the rim, I put the case into a drill press, run the press...

Battis replied to a thread Did I Make A Mistake? in Leverguns
If I find a gun that I like, it has to pass a simple test - can I sell it tomorrow for the same price or, even better, make money on it. I recently came across a 1907 Winchester Self Loader .351 for $200, and even though I have one, I grabbed it at...

This is a good place to start when researching Belgian guns. http://www.littlegun.be/arme%20belge/a%20a%20site%20belge%20gb.htm This site is mostly for shotguns, but check out the date codes: w looks like 1944, a lower case w underlined looks...

I'm sure you've tried meds, but, ****, something has to lessen the pain. I'm sitting here with a radiation damaged leg and foot, knowing that there's an Oxycodone pill 15 feet away, but I don't want to take it. I'll get to sleep around 3 - 4 AM,...
