I got the .270 for free so I just ran it through the 30-06 sizer, shot and trimmed.

I would rather have undersized throats and open them up to what I need and be able to control the variation in size. When buying a gun (if you can) test the throat size with pin gauges before you plunk down the cash you can avoid doing further work...

That is what I do. I usually just buy the single pin gauges I need for a caliber from McMaster. Class Z are a little over $4 each, can get cheaper elsewhere but MC is convenient and I get them next day.. I don't want to have to run to my shop and...

Well looks like your alloy was not too hard. Nice expansion there and it held on to the shroom.

An air leak or fuel pressure issue usually will throw more than just a misfire code in one cylinder.

It is not uncommon for misfires to feel like a transmission problem. How many miles on the spark plugs? PO303 is a cylinder #3 misfire. The COP can be ruled out by switching the number 3 COP with a known COP from another cylinder and seeing...

It makes sense the bullets grazed something to make it turn, probably a piece of wire or something resilient. A piece of brush, grass or a twig likely is not going to affect a bullet that size very much. either way the bullet did the job sideways.
