I'd haul around an 8" or 10" barreled .458socom AR with a sling before a hand cannon that size. And I'd have 11+1 (420gr big metplat solids) in a standard mag, that is quickly changeable. On top the handgun, for a decent holster like the Diamond D...

Maybe you want to pick up the NOE push through die body and a .433" and .434" sized bushings to try instead of keep lapping out your sizer.

Would not hurt to lap the rings the rings to make sure you are making good contact with the tube of the scope. A dab or two of Permatex 64040 retaining compound on the inside of each ring will hold it.

My Lee sizers were fairly rough from the factory so I can see how they can pick up lead. I always got them under size and polished them out to my desired size, bullets sized a lot smoother to boot. I size a lot of bullets with no lube.

In my ARs I don't really worry about primer flatness with .223 pressure loads because I'll usually end up with some pierced primers and "dimples" in the center of the crater when the pressure gets up there.(CCI 400) Then I usually switch to CCI SRP...

I let the bullet tell me if there is a problem or not. If the bullet that comes out is not excessively out of round, has high spots, etc then tiny amount of rock doesn't bother me.

dkf replied to a thread .44 gas checks spinning in Gas Checks
They could fly off after firing but that won't hurt anything but accuracy. I have had some checks be loose on some bullets and I put a dab of loctite on each one before seating them. You can use super glue but working time is very short with it. I...

dkf replied to a thread My First Thread! Rossi R92 in Leverguns
Overall they are very nice rifles for the money. Even more so if you do a little action work. Though some may need a little fine tuning to get to work right. My dad wanted a .44mag lever the other year so I found a new stainless 92 Rossi for...

dkf replied to a thread .223 flat base in Military Rifles
I put some flare on the case, especially for flat base bullets. I use a Lee universal expander die usually but sometimes a custom plug. Flare is removed with a Lee collet crimp die. I find with a little flare I tend to have less runnout, especially...
