45-70 is obsolete and dying. So is 45-60 and many others. When has that stopped reloaders on this forum from using it? I have an MP 40 cal and love the gun. Shoots great, likes cast and is a winner in my book

Wow. I've lucked into a couple of those. Bought my Chiefs Special for about $500 online in the box. Once in a while you run across stuff like that

I am not aware that nitrate staining is "common" with any roller-delayed gun, HK or Zenith who makes fine copies of them. I suspect a cyoa thing going on here as that primer thing smells to high heaven. And as far as shooting corrosive ammo, I've...

Yeah, square butte. Definate shooter, I don't own one safe queen. Even the pristine Target Masterpiece I bought like new in box has had several hundred rounds through it. Nothing worse to me than seeing a classic that's never been fired I think...

Yes, I meant receiver tapped and it's the 1892. 28in octagonal barrel, crescent metal butt plate. Full length magazine tube. Replacement front sight gold bead, Marbles rear sight. Bore is a little dark but no pits. No rust evident on rifle or in...

Potato sheds here store them for months at 55 or 56 degrees. As stated above make sure to cure them first then inspect for blemishes. Set those aside. Wrap each potato in newspaper and put in a cardboard or wooden box or basket with an apple to...

Looking at one in decent shape. No cracks in the stock but dings as should be expected from a 100 yr old rifle. Barrel is good. Anything odd about this one I should know before I buy it. Should be in the $700 range with the receiver already tapped...

Most people row too deep. I found the same thing in a canoe works in a boat, oars don't need to go to the bottom of the lake to move the boat and that just tires you out faster. I think the best way to decide how long the oars need to be is to...

Package arrived promptly and was so well wrapped I had to cut through several layers with my knife after cutting open the box. Good seller and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from him again.

Smaller the case the less a variance I ask for except if they are plinking then as long as they fit is fine with me. For hunting squirrels which is not a big target and considering the size I'd go for 2gr or so I think. More important would be the...

I think they are either made in China now or assembled in the USA of global parts. I have a set of Craftsman sockets and large wrenches that say "Made in USA" right on them. How I manged to bend the 1 1/4 wrench is a mystery. Must have been...

HF has a new line of higher quality tools that all have lifetime warranty. Craftsman still does lifetime. With that it's hard to spend Snap-On money for tools.

I am become death. The destroyer of worlds

We all do our duty when there is not cost to it, honor comes easier then. Sooner or later there comes a day in every man's life when it is not so easy, a day when he must choose and live with it for the rest of his days.

The further society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those that speak it
