I bought a 300 H&H pre-64 Win 70 for $300. How do you say "regret"? Selling it for something else I just had to have. I am always looking for another one but doubt I'll be able to afford it. All I have left is the Redfield range finding scope with...

ya and for the same price you can buy an identical 06 and even cheaper more available ammo. True but for those of us that are not fans of recoil the 6.5 kicks less. My idea is to use the lightest recoiling rifle that will get the job done. No...

^^+1 I'm a big fan of the 6.5 Swede but don't see many in the price range of the Axis. For a rifle that you want to shoot your meat for the winter and don't need to worry about a scratch or ding I can't think of much better.

That rang a bell from a few years ago when I was looking up loading information for Vectan powder and ran across some Italian sites that had it. I haven't seen anything else about it since. How do you like it and the round? Supposed to be low recoil...

Jeff is a stand-up guy. I placed an order with him a few years ago and because of security, my card would not run from his shop. He called me and tried to run it again but no-go so I gave him a different one. Great talk with him, too.

Freezing rain this morning at 0415 when I left for work. Driving in it sucks. Now just rain, stop tomorrow then rain for the next week I think. Backyard is squishy to walk on and combined with 36 degrees makes for a miserable day

Domestic dog or Dog/coyote hybrid. A pure coyote would have a much narrower center pad on the front with a broad on the rear like that one but would be much smaller and narrower overall. Dogs and wolves have a broad pad. It's hard to tell as the...

I've sold quite a bit of brass and lead on this site. When the "I'll take it" comes in I ship it out. I have always gotten a check, cash or money order within a week or so later. No dead beats so far and I will continue to treat the members here...

Robert, it started to rain so I stopped testing. I have several pieces of telephone pole I got for deck posts so I can spare one. When it stops raining I'll add 2 more for a total of 4 and see if I can get one to stop. I'd like to see what the 400gr...

I trim all of mine to the shortest length of the batch to be trimmed. As long as the OAL doesn't get crazy short I don't think there is a problem with that little a difference under min.

Well, I gave it a go. I used Hornady 400gr DGS solids and set a 4ft piece of telephone pole up to shoot length wise. The first round went in but didn't exit near as I could tell. I then turned it sideways and placed a second behind it. The second...
